welllllll, there was a time where men in flat caps attended games and rich men had play things where the aim was to have an old boys club in the board room. I sincerely doubt there was ever a time where money didn't talk on one level or another. for example arsenal in the 1930s appearing in a murder mystery movie. it certainly changed with prem and with all seater stadiums and all that changed in the 1990s. before that.. well it was possible to do something as a club if they had the support but sustaining it wasn't every easy I suspect. at this point is so far from locals going to a game as part of their few hours off and then on the lash. these clubs now don't care who turns in as long as they bring wads of dough and the stadium could be a graveyard for all they care. entitlement is certainly massive.
One thing that was galling about the ESL was the way the Murdoch press reported how clandestine it had all been, and how they bemoaned about true footy fans being excluded for corporate interests, etc.... and all with a ****ing po-faced seriousness that never for one moment mention how Murdoch, Sky and venture capitalists completely did the same to the Football League in 92.
Totally agree. It’s Juve Barca and Madrid in the **** and wanting more money cos they don’t have any. However, that doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be discussions about uefa and why they have a monopoly on continental football. As you say, uefa and fifa are so corrupt yet have no competition so no real incentive to change.

100%. I'm possibly FSGs biggest critic on here, but I utterly and totally trust the Yanks more than FIFA and UEFA - ffs, just look at the Paris ****show last May. Corrupt to its very core.
