I can't remember the last time I posted on this board. Does he not come on here at all any more?

Perhaps that was their cunning plan all along? Con the ignorant Yanks and the other greedy owners into signing up to a doomed-before-it-started venture like The Producers and be the only ones left in the company to hoover up the penalties.
    Machiavellian.

They signed a contract to enter. You don't get clearer entry than that. Being a future competition or not, playing in it or not, both irrelevant.

The only people that think otherwise just happen to support one of the six, coincidence? You'd be up in arms saying they'd broke that rule if your club wasn't one of them.

I'm a Liverpool fan, I don't want to see my club punished, but accept that our owners royally ****ed up and clearly broke that rule, we should be rightly punished as should the other five.

Anyways, we'll be alright. If the PL gives us a penalty VAR will rescind it.

No. Fine and/or points deducted at most. I doubt will get anything tbh, they'll bottle it and let all six get away with it.

I can sign a contract to build you a house. Doesn't mean I've actually done it.
The competition didn't have enough potential teams to have a tournament. How can anyone have entered it?

City killed off FFP by chucking money and lawyers are it. They'll do the same here.

Still, if the wording is "during the season" that's a loophole big enough to drive a bus through for a lawyer. If City's lawyers can get them off FFP - where they were patently guilty - then this would be a piece of cake for them.
It doesn't really matter what we think.

They clearly signed the contract in fairness.

Its clear the rule is to enter it and they signed the contract to do so.

They clearly said in the announcement it was to run.midweek during the season alongside the domestic leagues.

That meant no time for league cup and some prem games that are scheduled then

It would be immediately appealed and law suits would be started.

In the end the reality of all this is a few jumped up types want a few executives they didnt like anyway fired by the clubs. That will be that.
