I'm fairly sure the best punishment would be to put in place rules and sanctions so they coukdnt do it again In fact I'm fairly sure they could make them sign up to some fairly stringent **** just about now all in the name if protecting football and they would have to go along
i am with you totally, just need to be reealistic about both side. one are scabs (including us) and the others just would have been if asked. the other side is that none of the 14 bar everton have never been relegated and only probabaly leicester right now coudl be added to the list of clubs who won't be again. Wolves and villa and westham might like to think it but they are not at the stability nor level yet. Palace, Newcastle, burnely, leeds, southampton and brighton would fall into the 40point target camp and the bottom 3 have no real say bar being transient beneficiaries. Would punishment to the big 6 actually benefit any of them long term? probably not. Everton, leicester and west ham owners would all love to grab some power in the premier league off the big 6 and gain benefit that way. these guys are most likely to be ebhind some form of power grab at committe and executive level The rest? just hanging in there to be at the table eating of the feast. The would be in the tut tut category imo. One thing i do know is billionaires don't forget. That will be the case on both sides, and if a small fry wants to make real trouble for a big 6 they might find themselves on the wrong end of an unwritten vendetta.
makes sense. divide and conquer now. If you can insert guidelines now that would put a 10points sanction or a 10million fine or whatever down you would get it through this time. all it would do however is mean they would need to come to the prem beofre singing the contracts next time LOL. the sole crime is signing the contract. If these clubs didn't like bayern and psg hung out to see what would happen i doubt perez would have announced it at all.
They signed a contract. The moment they did that, they entered into another competition. The fact they left again (or at jest tried to at this stage) before playing a game is irrelevant.
Again, I havnt exactly gone through the details, but they never said they where leaving the domestic game, just that they where setting up a new competition separate from fifa.
The rules say they can't do that. They require written permission to enter or play in a new competition: L.9 Except with the prior written approval of the Board, during the Season a Club shall not enter or play its senior men’s first team in any competition other than: L.9.1. the UEFA Champions League; L.9.2. the UEFA Europa League; L.9.3. the F.A. Cup; L.9.4. the F.A. Community Shield; L.9.5. the Football League Cup; or L.9.6. competitions sanctioned by the County Association of which it is a member
