I see today that RA laid into the players and told them that although the coach was sacked, they were as much too blame and they're all playing for their futures.
Too little too late from RA i'm afraid.

Cant get them all right mate.

I think the new manager has no choice but to play the washed up, big ego players. Cole, lampard, drogba.....he will have to play them. And sadly they are all in serious decline. AVB knew this. He was trying to sort it out. Its not like lampard never played. He just didnt start every game. Remarkable that he stil cries like a baby and takes it through the media.

Still our top goalscorer this season...

I don't think Frank is in decline as much as people make out, its all this media hype that has affected his career.

AVB got the starting XI almost spot on in the last two games. I wanted him to drop the likes of Bosingwa (who was actually injured), Meireles and Malouda to the bench, which he did. I think Cole could have also done with some bench time in place of Bertrand and I would rather have seen Torres start in place of Drogba. Ultimately most of the blame has to go on the players. It's their poor performances that have cost us the most. Abramovich and the board also have to take blame for not backing the manager and rather trusting our overpaid and under performing players like Lampard and Drogba. I do not want to see Drogba start a game for us again, unless Torres needs a rest or is unavailable for whatever reason. Torres is part of our main plans and needs as much playing time as he can get. Drogba is turning 34 in a few days and his contract runs out in the summer.

I know mate, just had to make the point due to Meireles being as much use as Malouda or Bosingwa. In other words - fekking useless!<wah>
To be fair to Lampard, all he said was he wanted to play. It was the media AGAIN who blew it out of all proportion. Lampard hasn't been the same since his lay off & I doubt he'll get back to his best now. I hope he sees out the end of his contract though and will accept the fact that he won't play every game. Shame that the only other contender for his place is Meireles

Wasn't Mourinho sacked though? Doesn't really have any choice but to leave?

He's never been sacked in his career.

    There were too options:

    1) Madrid could sack him and they would have to pay the full £20m compensation or whatever it was

    2) Chelsea could approach him but they would have to pay Madrid the full compensation/buy out clause. (ala AVB)

Both Mourinho and Madrid came to middle ground and parted ways.

Pulis hasn't been sacked either, technically.

You can talk technicalities all you want but its clear he had no choice but to leave the club.

  18. That's because he's been an abject failure at Real Madrid.

Abject failure? Beating Barca to a league title is failure? God help everyone if he was successful.

  20. So, you reckon that Mourhino's time at Real Madrid will be seen by their fans as a success, do you?
