That's the whole point of why most of us watch football, the local rich businessman puts his money into a lower league team and hopes to compete against the big boys some day,he has a dream just like the rest of us.
Exactly mate.

And of all these European teams join up, thier domestic leagues are ****ed.

Whats the prem without ut, Liverpool ect?

Its a horrible idea I just can't get my head around these owners thinking the fans will have this in any way shape or form.

I dont care how much merchandise makes compared to ticket sales. We've seen how **** football is without fans and if they go ahead with this they are basically spitting in the face of em all and fans won't have it imo, they won't go anymore. How's anyone supposed to go to away games all over Europe every two weeks ffs.

Can't really belive its even gotten this far tbh

Ye that. They buy shirts, scarves and gloves.

In America commercial revenue is what makes you successful, in Europe the thing that annoys these people is that commercial revenue doesn't immediately mean youre going to be guaranteed the most illustrious places.

Fundementally what they want to do is increase revenue and remove the competition that annoys them

The other thing is that NFL, for example, franchises pretty much universally make large amounts of profit each year. Americans probably look at the football model and can’t understand why most football clubs lose money every year.

The only way this can work is if the squad sizes are heavily increased and each of these teams are allowed to field their players in all current competition as well as the ESL. Effectively cloning clubs but with the option to rotate players between competitions. Draft Fantasy Soccer Explosion Mega Rulez.

That sounds a bit ****.......if the big 6 think we should play against a b down then we have an issue........84 other clubs say fk off to that idea...shut the fking door behind you on your way out.

Big 6 will not be missed

But they would be missed imo.

English football without them, well its not English football really.

For me it totally ruins any domestic leagues that have the top sides leaving for this ****cunt idea.

How can it not.

From a personal point of view i see no loss, im a Cardiff fan so why would I really.....in fact I'd say I'm fed up with hearing about the said 6 team's so it would be a blessing to have a break from the nonsense.

Obviously fan's of big 6 will think definitely and so they should because British football has revolved around you guy's for 40 year's plus.

It'll all come out in the wash I guess.

Strong statement in the commons from the sports minister guy on sky now.

I like it.

Saying if the football authority's can't stop it themselves govt will deffo step in and protect the national game whatever it takes.

A lot of what I've seen and read is not a lot different from how I felt as a lower league supporter regarding the Premier League. I know the PL is not in it's own right a closed shop, because it allows promotion and relegation, but financially it is a closed shop, unless you can find a wealthy backer.

Some of those backers have reaped rewards for clubs, others have turned to disaster. https://atthematch.com/article/how-the-oystons-destroyed-blackpool

I felt so strongly about it in 1992, that I swore I would never watch the team I love if it ever reached the Premier League and I could bore you with many reasons for that.

This scenario of the European Super League is even worse, but it's what comes of 30 years of what we have all bought into. If you paid to go to a Prem game, if you paid a subscription to SKY or BT, we have all bought into this..

Now the top six want an even bigger slice of the cake, so there can be no more Leicester's with their wealthy backers, so there can be no tinpot Gillingham's trying to hault the progress of Manchester City. So there can be no West Ham at the upper end of the market taking the European place of Arsenal or Spurs

They will want B Teams next as part of their package, we may stand in solidatory together now, but I will always think what about the Bury's and Wimbledon's, Halifax, Hereford and Newport before them.

It's like horse racing for the Kings, we have no control of the destiny, they will just water it down and as always, the paying tv viewer, will be all that matters.

80,000 at Spurs is nothing to them, compared to millions viewing on a world wide stage, spectators, why do THEY need them, covid has taught them to manage without us. The American dream.
