Just trying to stick to actual facts mate. Couldn't care whether you jibbed them off.

Finishing 3rd or 4th got you entry into - if i recall correctly - the 3rd qualifying round. They'd have been due to play one two legged match to qualify. It's possible that their spot was downgraded and they had to play an extra round. Honestly no idea.

They shot their load mate. Sacked their manager, put bigger plans in place.

Levy is probably on the phone right now cancelling an order for a cheese room extension.

Nah you convinced me so i looked it up (I thought you could be correct). In 2004 your boys finished 4th and had to then go through the qualifying rounds, table looked like this:

In 2005 Everton finished 4th and entered at the same stage:

Fair play to laugh about them going out (so i linked it above) but sorry bud, your win didn't actually have any bearing on it.

No. 4th place then went into the play off round.

You got an exception made as you’d won it, and didn’t qualify, and the F.A. wouldn’t put you in ahead of us, as the PL rules for that season made no mention of that possibility.

As it went, you had to play 3 qualifying rounds that year, and ended up playing some Scandinavian fishermen and a load of welders from Eastern Europe.

UEFA’s warm balls saw us draw Villarreal at the point they were ****ing boss (they got to the SF that season) and then they literally brought Collina out of retirement to ref the 2nd leg. He famously then disallowed a perfectly good goal from Big Dunc and he went straight back into retirement after he’d ****ed us over.

It is but you're making hard work of it along with West Ham, L'pool, Chelsea, Leicester and Everton and there you have why the majority of us got so angered with the ESL format.
