    Dreadful!!

Spent the day at work watching the clock, doing nothing, then left early and had an hour sleep at a service station on my way home. Too old for that **** now.

Bit a drive every day that?

  2. It’s an hour and a half each way.

    I’ve got used to it.

Plus, I’m spending £27 a day on petrol, instead of £120+ by staying in a hotel and eating out.

Get a room you two. This thread is not a Gay talking travelling thread, i created it to talk about martial arts ffs

  4. In a way, though, Chief and I are engaging in a stylised form of martial arts, what with our verbal jousts and parries.

And, after all, isn’t life a meditation on martial arts?

Tees has already agreed, let’s set a venue. I bet you’re the first to back down.

I'd say it's probably the most under-rated martial art, I did boxing judo and karate as a kid and it's the one I've tended to use when 'in trouble'. It's only looking back that I realise one of the first things they taught me in Judo was how to choke a man to death, regardless of their size.

I took Welsh Jiu Jitsu as a kid... It's similar to Brazilian but instead of waxing your genitals before each fight you learn how to hold sheep still.

well I didn;t do jiu jitsu, only judo then, maybe he just added it because it amused him to teach a group of 7-9 year olds how to murder each other.

There are chokes and arm holds in Judo but some organizations, like Budo, don't teach them to kids, only adults. I did Judo as a kid (very successfully, won a lot of small competitions)... the organization I was with didn't teach me the chokes but several of my friends went to a different club where they did learn chokes, even as kids.
