Really? He's quality and has been for a long time. Plenty of clubs will be after him.

That has to be one of the worst Brazil performances that I have ever seen. Too many inconsistent Brazilian player, not enough imagination in the midfield and a real lack of pace. Arguably only two Brazil class players in that team.

Should really have given Marcelo a yellow for diving.

I get the feeling there's every chance a European team will win this.

To be fair, Brazil played without their best player so far. It was a poor decision to replace him with Cüneyt Çakır.

It's like a case study in confirmation bias.

He's been a bit lost since leaving Deportivo. Was amazing for them and his defensive contribution for a winger is fantastic. I'd take him, but consistency would be an issue. He can go missing.

Not sure if this is disagreeing with me or not, but I can't help but feel like if they had conspired to let Brazil walk through then they'dhave given that aat the end.

I'm agreeing - I mean the conspiracy theorists are confirmation biasing. Not giving Brazil a late penalty doesn't fit the story, so it's forgotten.

PS didn't actually see it so don't know if it was one or not.

Not even close. I think Tom would have struggled to give that one (though in reality there was probably as much contact as the Lovren one). What I don't get was why Marcelo wasn't booked for simulation.

It definitely wasn't a penalty, but there are worse decisions every single week and if you were determined to give Brazil a penalty then you could easily give that. In real time it looked like more of a penalty than the Lovren one.

I don't even think in real time either looked anything like a penalty to be honest Dan.

Ok fair enough. The biggest hole in World Cup conspiracy theories is it assumes that FIFA are competent enough to pull that off.
