I know I'm opening myself up when I say this but English football analysis in general is very poor. They're all yes men and always nod in agreement with each other when discussing nothing topics rather than the real issues. Roy Keane may be a complete cu*t but ITV are worse off with him pulling out of their WC team last week. At least he's not afraid to give honest, harsh assessment.

England is the leading World Nation in more things than I could even think of. But football coverage is not one of them.

I knew one of Churchill's pups would be onto that straight away. You and COL are like fleas to sh*t!!! It was the same during the Euros last time. Such hyped-up jingoism from the pair of you I never seen the likes of.

Even the complimentary disclaimer "England is the leading World Nation in more things than I could even think of" was not enough to keep the foaming at the mouth Bulldog from tearing off his muzzle.

Christ help us if England come up against the Germans...

Perhaps this thread should be renamed World Cup Match Day Threads, so those of us watching games each day could engage in a bit of banter.

Lunchtime for me here in Canada so I'm watching the 1st half of Mexico v Cameroon before returning to work.

Wonder if Samuel Eto will add to his international tally of a goal every two games.

Stephane Mbia committing a foul was mentioned by the commentator as being "a sturdy individual" (except of course, as we we all know, when he rolls around on the ground).

    Mexico just scored but offside.

It wasn't offside, so that's 1 game and ten mins and the officials have got 3 goals wrong, as well as a red card.

We need the 4th official to be able to use replays so what do Fifa do, actively refuse to allow them to see a TV.

2 games in and we've seen 3 QPR players!

How come Benny couldn't put in more crosses like that for us?

Free flowing match with lots of goal scoring opportunities at both ends. Two goals, one apiece, already disallowed.

That's exactly what I thought, the reason is he didn't give a **** about us.

That was a proper old school scramble there, its a very even game.

The ref gives a fk for a perfect tackle.

Another wrong decision for a goal, its a ****ing farce.

Well done Blatter, your stance against technology has meant at least 5 major goal/pen/red card decisons have been wrong and we aren't even 1.5 games into it.

I hope Mexico win this, they should be 2 0 up already.

That one looked like a good goal in any other league, except the World Cup of Football that is.

Switching sports to ice hockey - Flyer, do you think the NY Rangers can pull another game back in LA to return the NHL Stanley Cup series back to NY for a 6th game, which would be interesting?

I watched most of the first two games and under different circumstances NYR could have easily been 2-0 up, instead of down, losing twice in OT sudden death, when they could/should have settled matters in regular time.

I gather LA was the favoured team for the cup, so they have actually put up quite a good showing, except where they folded 3-0 in that game with those odd puck bounces. I always root for the underdog, especially when they are Rangers!

Back to work for me after a late lunch - the weekday World Cup ko scheduling is 1:00pm & 4:00pm in my AST time zone, so a bit hard to follow complete matches unless I take vacation afternoons.

There's the BAE we know, gave up running back and left the bloke with a tap in. All because the lazy bastard didn't want to run an extra 5 metres.
