We could have signed him for less than £500k last season, he's looked much better this season, but I still don't believe we've gone to £2m.

agreed you'd think a million for Brady and around £1,5 for Elmo would be about right, a bit more for Elmo as he has PL experience.

2 million seems excessive but if it really is 2 I think it will be money well spent. The guy is only 20 years old and from his improvement this season it could end up being a steal with a nice profit at the end.

the investment on Chester & Evans will have paid off but on Stewart not.. and 2 seasons ago we'd have all thought he'd be the one to make it big..!

As important as sorting out the loan players in terms of extensions and turning them into permanents is, I still think for a promotion push we need to bring in 2-3 new players to add strength in depth as today's performance showed and just generally to freshen the squad up. I hope we bring in 2 strikers (in a perfect world/one realistically), a keeper and possibly another midfielder or wing back option. If Elmo or Brady get injured, then Rosie can do a job at wing back in the short term, but would get found out over a longer period. We should try and make use of the loan market seen as Meyler and Brady becoming perms will free up two spaces + Amos' recall making another free loan spot.

It is a fact that Brady has listened and returned much improved whereas Stewart . . .

I've been impressed with him, he has stuck at his role (not constantly switching wings with Stewart has been a massive step up) and he has entered the team mentality. Worth? . . . £1 - 1.25M; willing to invest . . . up to £2.25M - this guy has real potential and he could become something very special in the right squad. Chelsea have played a style with Cole that Brady could easily aspire to - maybe not so tricky, but . .

Last season I'd have thought 500k was steep, now I think it's a good signing. He's getting better and better and at 20 years of age could potentially be a great signing.

SSN report that Hull City have agreed a fee with Man Utd in excess of £2m for Robbie Brady. Looks to be like Meyler. Almost done.

So much for Phil Buckinghams silly HDM article in tonights HDM. Does that clown ever learn ? As for Watford and Wolverhampton getting Brady ? well.......

I agree $2m sounds too much but he will probably be worth a lot more in a few years - we must build up to paying $2m if we get promoted and on number of appearances he makes.. The Allams will back Steve Bruce big time in January - Fraizer Campbell to be added to Elmo Meyler and Brady and that is not a bad January Transfer Window.....

Agree with Fez, £4m spent is exciting but if it's on players we've already got, what's left to spend on new players?!

Cant be much, they said that all permanent signings had to come out of next seasons budget, that SB was only given money for loans in January. One would have to think we probably wont sign anyone else on a permanent deal .

Actually its worth £150m approx. £80m for the season and £70m in parachute payments(spread over 4 years) The new TV cash deal kicks in from 2013/14.

Yeah as if you would know. Its peanuts if we get to the PL. It could be that its so much down now and the rest when we get promoted to the PL. Either way its a good deal for all parties. Quality costs.

Yeah right. SAF said that Brady was not for sale last season. He wanted to assess him in MU pre-season etc. £500k indeed. ?

Regardless of what the Allams spend in January it will be well worth it if the PL is where we end up. Speculate to accumalate.

As you are only allowed 2 loans from one club thats why Meyler is being signed up now according to Steve Bruce.

Skysports are reporting this morning we have agree with Manure in excess of 2 million for him. As you say as long as we get to the EPL, this will be small money to secure his obvious talents.

Indeed John. But i doubt that its all up front. More like a staggered fee subject to promotion etc.

I for one was convinced we would't get him on a permenant deal. It appears I may have been wrong.

He's a quality player and if we manage to get him full-time it'll be an awesome bit of business.

I remember the Palace game a few weeks ago. Brady had Zaha in his pocket all night and it took untill the 90th minute for him to get a sniff at goal.

I rate Brady highly. I'd love to see him become a City player.
