If its dependent on wolves getting a replacement I'd say it'll take a fair while to find anything out. He'd be a superb signing though
We're going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to wingers if we get this unnamed bloke *cough* Hammill... Still need that striker though. Know of anything that you can accidently let slip OLM? It must be a pain sometimes with everyone asking, but it's not going to stop me Edit - Josh King blonde moment, apologies
Any chance we might sign a striker before the window closes? Or are we hoovering up all available wingers so Leicester can't sign any? Brady, Stewart, Hamill (pending), Garcia, King (pending), McClean (playing on the wing currently) gives us 6! That's not including Pusic or Devitt!! Madness.
Adebola might go to L2, he was signed by NP when we were skint, can't see him ever getting on the pitch again..
From the you tube clips King seems to be more of a winger than a centre forward. If McClean goes that leaves Fryatt and Homer as our only recognised strikers
Kightly for a recall? Adebola wasn't signed when we were skint, which is what was worrying. He's a centre forward who can play wide. When he plays up front he has a drop deep and a little wide and then run at the centrebacks approach (my comparison to Rooney on another thread). He's going to be a strong ****er though if the Man U fan who said he got stronger last season compared to before it is right and he was pretty good in the air (I was surprised when I saw he was 5'11" after seeing him play) so I'm sure we could get him to stay up front to flick on/nod down to the wingers/other strikers and Koren.
5'11" isn't very tall though. Unless he's Elliotesque in his leaping? The system Barmby is employing at the moment with one up front and support from wings/midfield suggest to me we'd be better with a back to goal striker that can receive then feed the supporting midfield/wingers. We don't have that at present.
if Luke skywalker (let's call him that) deal is on and we're actually looking to secure on permanent I am extremely happy. He looks like a brilliant player. Not heard much from him since he moved to wolves but that would be fantastic imo.
That's where his aerial ability was good. It must have been his strength compensating for him not being over 6', because I saw him 18 months ago holding off big lumps of defenders who I know are over 6' and winning almost all the headers from goalkicks to either lay them off or to take possession himself and then run at the defence. If the Man U fan is saying he got stronger that season as well...
Which makes it even more vital that we get someone in his mould that NB will actually play. If not, we'll have to hope that 'Plan A' works every game without fail.
Just watched Barmby's press conference and he said he may bring in an outfield player before the game. Would that be King?
