Like the fact he said that MM being manager was 'a massive factor' in him joining. Just having someone like Mick in charge will attract better quality players in itself, so it seems. He seems keen to stay and he looked upset when questioned about what's happening at Blackburn, so here's hoping he does a good job and stays a bit longer. What will this mean for Hewitt though, perhaps loan him out?
Although in some cases this is definately true and Im not juding Orr individually on whether he meant this or not but it appears to be the defacto comment when joining a new team. You get the 'good facilities, impressive manager, good vision for the future' statement made by everyone. I think everyone has the same press pep talk these days.
Agreed that new players interviews sound like they are taken from the same script. I don't remember anyone brought in during PJ's reign though who said they came because it was Paul in charge, maybe that's why it stood out for me. Perhaps they said that PJ is a good manager blah, blah but I don't think anyone said it in the way Bradley did, i.e it's because of who the manager is that I'm here.
Not to nit pick but I'm sure there were a few who did say that Paul Jewell being here was a major factor for them joining. Whether anyone means any of these things that they say is open to interpretation.
If they said the total truth it would be along the lines of...." I don't really mind who the manager is or the club, as long as I get my wages at the end of the month." A tad cynical but the majority of players are just in it for the wedge, in my opinion ofcourse.
This is the sort of loan signing that actually makes sense. It seems MM is making sure that we have 2 players for every position - makes sense to me !!
Orr is seriously over-rated and lived a charmed footballing life, playing at a much higher standard than he ability warrants. I was surprised but glad when QPR took him off our hands but they soon worked him out & moved him on & Blackburn have now down the same. Quite ironic when you say it didn't take long for to work out you needed a decent RB. It also didn't take Henning Berg long to work out he's sh*te. Poor positional sense, awful distribution & slow I'm sure MM will get you out of trouble but you will be carrying Orr, at least until January!
Every time I go on TWTD or any other Ipswich related site it's all about Bradley Orr. I'm as happy as every other fan that we have a right back but the guy must be having a couple of interviews a day the way he's churning out quotes. I'm hoping he walks the walk as he seems more than capable of talking the talk
