With Port Vale drawing 0 0 at Barnet that puts us 2 points behind with a game in hand (away to York on Tuesday).

    Come on Gills........

The brillant away results continue. Thats 10 wins away. how many more can we get? Will we win 10 at home? Why can we shut out the teams away and not at home on current form.

Don't worry about that, it attracts new registrations. It really does. Every time we promote something lately new members sign up.

Seems that the racism thing is trying to be reactivated again where gilllingham are concerned, it's never been apparent before with our club but all of a sudden it's round every corner where we are concerned.
apparent recent player attacks and racial abuse blown out of proportion perhaps.

some need to get a life and fast !!!

It is difficult to know what I am and am not allowed to say in regards to his comment. I could say nothing but then that would be burying my head in the sand. So I do feel as he has the responsible position according to his profile as a member of parliament it is quite a damning comment to make. I did send him a tweet to ask if he could verify that comment, by that I mean, did he witness it, receive emails from constituents or maybe heard remarks from local people. As such I have not yet received a response but then his twitter account has only been been used once in the last 24hrs since.

Those who have been to Bradford will know that the area where the ground is is just off Manningham Road, which houses a predominantly Asian community, in a city where multi-culturalism is a necessity. On the walk to the ground there are therefore, inevitably, 'targets' for mindless w*****s with a few pints inside them and whose limits of racial tolerance are somewhat less than I hope the majority, if not entirety, of the members of this board.

Therefore it is entirely possible that the said abuse did occur.

If it did, I'm sure it was perpetrated by a very very small number of the pretty good turnout of Gills fans last Saturday. That does not make it less unacceptable, but I would like to think that there would have been many Gills fans who were there, and many more who were not, who would have confronted the offenders had they been within earshot.

What makes it personally even more unpalateable is that last weekend, on a visit to a club with a proud history which has undergone some difficult times in the past years, and which can be justfiably proud of its achievements in the Carling Cup this season, but which could have developed a serious chip on its shoulder as a result, the experience of the mini not606 get together referred to in BSG's match report was nothing but heartwarmingly cordial. From the chat with the 'town guide' who directed us to what was the 'Bantams' pub - but it did serve real ale - where in a very hot and crowded room we were able to chat and discuss football in a sensible and polite manner with Bantams fans, to the person who, on our way out of the ground back up the hill greeted us with a 'well played lads - you deserved it', and to those who we chatted with at the station on our way back.

If any Bradford fans get to read this, I can assure you that we are not all like those who (allegedly, I still have to say, although there is little doubt in my mind) abused your citizens last Saturday, and although it's quite possible, in fact even probable, you have your own mindless w*****s, those supporters who we met last Saturday are those that football needs most.

itstimupnorth - the MP was courteous to give me a reply tweet:

    David Ward ‏@DavidWardMP
@brb_gfc yes I intervened and they ran off - idiots will be idiots - will speak to police to provide protection in future

So sadly, although toned down from his initial reaction, it appears a few did spoil the reputation for the vast majority. The MP also mentioned that all clubs unfortunately have them.
