A bit surprised to come on here today and not find any posts about yesterday's match. Did anyone else listen to it?

I have to say that I was hugely disappointed when Purse had to go off and I feared for the worst. Then Bhasera was sent off, yet another red in our portfolio, Bradford were throwing everything at us but the kitchen sink, and I expected us to fold completely as per usual. However, despite surendering the lead, Argyle stood up to the task and on this occasion took a point from a game they would have definately lost a few weeks ago. I take little comfort from the loss of the 2 extra points but have to take comfort from not losing a match altogether we were winning. Maybe, just maybe, the turning point has come where we will pick up points now. At least we have moved up one for now and are no longer the bottom out of 92.
 
I heard bits of it sensible and was really worried about the second half minus Purse, very surprised we survived it and came away with a point even though going from the first half it should've been 3! Another red card angers me somewhat, it's time Fletcher put his foot down regards this but from what the commentry were saying it was not really a vicious move by Bhasera, even so it is time we were more diciplined. I hope we have turned a corner but only the players know that for sure.
 
Yes i was up at 7am (Vancouver time) to log on to the Argyle game...then back to bed and dream of a win..when Argyle went ahead my Wife was not impressed with my chanting and the bed moving..Hmmmm.
Good they hung on to managed a draw..
i was then forced to make breakfast..another Hmmmm.
 
There does seem to be a sort of idiots 5 minutes with us and reds but lets face it, it isn't just this season is it. Our disciplinary record previously has not been all that great either. According to the commentary the Bhasera foul was a yellow and having already got one the second one followed. Suppose we should be grateful it wasn't the normal straight red for us. Maybe now they are being paid the management should tell the players that the next red will be 2 weeks wages and every one thereafter if they don't learn anything. I have to say though that it doesn't seem that hard to get a red nowadays compared with yester year. No excuse though.

I hear Purse came out onto the pitch after the match to join the applause for the travellers and wasn't limping or anything so that at least sounds positive. I don't think we can afford to lose him right now.
 
Unless she has a gun or your bollocks in a death grip there is no such thing as forced to cook BC. (I say this in the knowledge my Mrs will never log on my computer to read my comments)
 
Apparently he was taken off more as a precasion sensible as it was a head injury.

I don't like the red cards I'll admit but this season there seems to be more, why wasn't he taken off after the first? Mistake by Fletcher perhaps?
 
Probably because he is one of our more classy and experienced and he would rather him be on the pitch is the simple answer to that one. You should be able to trust your more experienced as a Manager so I don't blame Fletcher for leaving him on.
 
It seems that O'Driscoll was Fletchers guest again and was pulling the strings in regard to what what was happening.

Purse had a head injury as Mrs LaLa said.............double vision in one eye after a clash of heads, a bit concussed.........layed out for awhile......but soldiered on to half-time.
 
IF let's say we could get 4 points from the next 2 games (Hereford, 21st position, at home and Bristol Rovers 18th position, away), then this will start to look like a pretty good run since Purse, Blanchard, Chadwick & Hemmings came on-board.

I listened to the whole game - given an entirely independent commentary team (!) it seems we started well but then got dragged into Bradford's long ball game which didn't do us any favours at all. It degenerated into a scrappy game played on a small, scruffy pitch (compared to our World Cup turf), with the officials deemed a "shambles" by the commentators, giving bad decisions to both sides, which hardly helps anyone's temper.

On the other hand of course, failure to take points from 2 teams also at the wrong end of the table and you'd start to worry we're back where we started.......
 
Mid-field is an area that needs strengthening............a supply of good ball to the frontmen............takes a lot of stress off of the defence.......if we're scoring goals.........as in the Northampton game.

Then another goalkeeper........if Larrieu is deciding to opt out.
 
To be honest after you scored (from a corner that shouldn't have been given) i couldn't see us getting a goal back and i honestly don't think that our striker meant to kick that towards the net, he doesn't usually anyway.

Well done to your fans though, a good following from a long way away and sung non stop, you put us home fans to shame.
 
We've been suffering from an extreme lack of experience in a depleted squad Bantam - especially in defence.

Darren Purse seems to be pretty key to reducing goals conceded - it was a big blow when he went off with an injury. Maybe he wouldn't have stopped the goal but who knows.....
 
You seem to be moving in the right direction since the takeover and the new manager. Problem with us is that we can't use any excuse, we have enough players for 3 teams, a handful with "premiership experience" and were supposedly "too big for this league", doesn't seem that way.
 
Oh dear, that sounds horribly like where we were 2 or 3 years ago or thereabouts!

Too many players in a bloated squad, some on extravagant wages approaching the bottom end of the Premier League scale, many of them under-performing and un-saleable..........

If you have any nails left, bite them now!
