I think we'll still make the top 4 this season. But like last season, it's going to be tight. I will wait and see what happens in the summer with the board. But something pretty radical is going to be needed, because at the moment, we're just not good enough as we should be.
I don't think it's tiem for a change in management. Not yet. AW still has 2-3 years left at the club i think. With FFP and the improved financial position we find ourselves in Wenger will for the first time in a long time actually be able to spend money to compete with the top clubs. And i'm sure he will build a fantastic side from what we have currently, by using that money very well. Also if it had been up to Wenger and not the board Nasri would of been with us last season and RVP woudl be with us now. He knows the quality players, he knows who can make a difference, he has been hamstrung by financial policy and let down by the lack of loyalty from his key players. But with the cash in place Wenegr will return us to winning ways.
I agree on the Chelsea thing though - if Ambramovich hadn't arrived we would have continued to win trophies with Utd
By all measn if Wenger spends £60million in summer and we are in 10th at this stage of next season, start to call for him to go, but until he has had the proper chance to prove he still has it, i don't think it's fair to show him the door. For me he has doen a brilliant job every single year he has been with us.
I need to see that happen. The board and the management of Arsenal need to make some major improvements this summer, because the excuses are starting to wear thin. We're just scraping by and it's not good enough. Although I don't think he's faultless, it's credit to wenger that he's kept us in the CL, but even he can't be expected to work miracles.
I agree - come the summer we need to be adding 2-3 Cazorla quality players to the team. Which positions is another story, but we need some top top quality players. This season though i think we are about to go on a good run of games. Rosicky/Cazorla/Wilshere/Arteta on the pitch together has to create alot of chances. I'd like to see ARshavin getting closer to the first team when cazorla/rosicky are playing. And dare i mention the power (glass0 house that is Diaby. If our squad where not made of paper we really would have a brilliant midfield and attacking unit. Imagin Wilshere/Rosicky/Diaby all being available for the full season...
Dammit, where is A87? I'm staying up, waiting for a meltdown thread, and he doesn't even have the decency to show up.
If we get Huntelaar, Henry and one other in January (pref a beefy midfield enforcer) then i don't see why we can't comforably get back into the top 4 and have a good cup run. If we don't add in January we may find ourselves a little thin and it'll be a battle for the top 4, but again im confident we will still get top 4.
I'm at the stage where I need to see it happen. We can speculate all we like on how good our squad should be, but the fact is we're struggling at the moment.
I think if we spend money our post January squad could be Chez Sagna TV Mert Gibbs Strootman Caz SJW10 Nani Huntelaar Podolski Mannone Kos Santos Arteta Rosicky Oxo Gervihno Not a bad team but the board and AW needs to make that happen
Don't think Manure will. But if the do we could get that big black guy from Montpelier. M'Bwia I think?
I do not have a clue as to how this team will react after tonight, but for the love of god, please no Ramsey or Gervinho against Reading. Please. Watching those two today was torture.
