Can City push on from their tough opening day win at the Pireli? Villa, an old big club with an expensively assembled squad and large fan base, probably couldn't be any more different a prospect when compared to Burton. Here City will really have a test for their opening home fixture of the season.

Proposed Rule Suggestion - Parachute Payment Mechanic (PP)

Another rule change that I was potentially interested in introducing was a rule to simulate the parachute payment for those relegated the previous season. The main ideas that I was rolling with were to do with a Joker like rule that could be played once a season, potentially doubling or adding points to a prediction (obviously having to declare its use before they predict). Let me know any thoughts/ suggestions you have. <ok>

Doris predicts the next two matches thus:
Cardiff City 0 Aston Villa 0
Cardiff City 1 Sheffield United 2
Zohore with the goal, and adds the usual "one hopes one is wrong" thingy pals! :emoticon-0103-cool:
 
My opinion is leave the new scoring as it is Sheepy - 4/2/1 - nice and simple, we can all see the points tot up at a glance. <ok>

I'll have to think about the Villa game - will be back for another 4 pointer later in the week.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Oh and I'm with Sparky leave scoring system as it is. Although I would obviously benefit from any PP system we shouldn't get rewarded for being s**t with predicting last season.
 
Ken to score in a 2 - 1 win for the bluebirds (can't vote against him at the moment). Put £30 on him to finish leagues top scorer @ 33 - 1 so go Ken go (not a betting man, but led astray by Sparky).
 
Looking forward to this one. Will be a real test for City.

Whiff - don't know whether to take the blame for corrupting you or the credit for helping you to enjoy yourself. <laugh>

If you got 33/1 on Zorro finishing top Champ scorer then you've done very well - he's only on 16/1 now.

A nice grand in your pocket for you come May would be the icing on the cake if it came off and as a result he took us up. <ok>

WOL ran an article about six weeks ago saying bookies gave him no chance of winning.

Had a look around and odds then ranged from 26 - 1 to 33 - 1. Still don't think there's a massive chance of him winning but you never know.

It's all about getting on at the right time. <ok>

If you fancy a non-related City punt then have alook at County in League 2. I've just stuck a tenner on them finishing in the top 7 @ 12/1.

They've recruited well and that new pitch at RP will be an advantage - as well as playing football now, they can use stretchers for injuries instead of lifeboats.

In the spirit of vive la difference let's have a 2 - 2 draw. Bit of a start of season gamble I know but what the hell.

Not sure of the joker scenario Sheepy. A bit unfair on those in Div. 2 from last year and any new entrants. Those relegated may have a different view though. <whistle>
 
2 1 for me. A first correct prediction of result from Italy followed by one from Tbilisi... what can go wrong. CCFC played here in the European Cup many years ago!!! Zocky to score!!!
I too am against this parachute payment. The top league takes too much of the money already and passes little down to us at the grass roots!!!!
