UFC is street fighting with a few rules. Don't see the point tbh.

Maybe 15 years ago it was, mate. Much different these days, have to be a truly complete fighter to make it in the UFC or even Bellator.

MMA has already taken over as the premium combat sport now. Only the likes of Anthony Joshua and the fight tonight are drawing big numbers for boxing. Boxing's a dying sport, mate. There's a few great guys left but MMA is producing star after star and it's still very early in it's sporting life, only been going for like 20-25 years.

Don't reckon boxing will die mate, too many fans for that.

Great time for British boxing too.

Yeah maybe dying was a bit extreme but it's on a massive decline and that's massively due to the rise of MMA, in particular the UFC (Bellator's making waves now though as well).

What utter nads. Boxing in the UK is drawing in record numbers at events across the season and as is as popular as it’s ever been since the rise of Hearn.

MMA has nowhere near the level of support or interest

The Brits are the only ones really keeping boxing alive at the moment.

Tonight's event will draw big but like I just said to bluey, MMA buys are quickly catching up with boxing.

When you compare numbers from like 10 years ago to now, the gap really isn't that big.

How well are they attended?

Don't think it will ever reach the same level of popularity.

Often sold out arenas. Today's their first ever event in Russia as well. Like I said, it's still so young but it's growing year on year.

Think in 20 years, maybe even less, it'll massively eclipse boxing.

Conor and Khabib in just a few weeks, be interesting to see the PPV buys for that, it's the biggest fight to date in UFC history.

That’s not true either. as boxing is still more popular in the States, the home of MMA.

Ask yourself why the big boxing promoters aren’t trying to get into MMA but White is trying to get into boxing...

You like it, fair enough mate, but it’ll never eclipse the noble art, sorry.

Because Dana White's a greedy **** <laugh>

Other promoter's can't realistically get into MMA because the UFC won't be shifted as top dog. All of the world's best fighters are in the UFC and the very few that aren't get snapped up by Bellator, there's no financial sense for a boxing promoter to get into MMA because there's no talent for them to snap up that could make them money. It's not like boxing where guys can fight for WBO/WBC etc. Fighters are signed to one organisation until their contract is up or they get cut.

Yeah you could say that, not seen wrestling in years but I presume the WWE continues to sweep up the best juiced up actors/ actresses etc. UFC is similar in that it sweeps up all the best fighters, hence why it'd be pointless for another promoter to get involved.
