Should be a good fight a real 50/50 for me. Gun to my head, Taylor by split decision. Price/Chisora on the undercard looks an interesting one. Two average heavyweights having a small resurgence in their respective careers. For the loser it really should be retirement but doubt it will be. The winner will probably fight Povetkin or Parker or someone similar. Prediction if i had to make one would be Chisora to win by stoppage in around the 8th or 9th round.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say Prograis on points and Pricey by a late stoppage.

What did you think of the fights Smokey?

It seemed like quite a strange end to the Chisora fight. But saw an interview with Pricey and he had no complaints.
Del boy was just too strong and bullied him to a stoppage.

And I'm probably going to be in the minority here, but I thought the Taylor fight was horrible to watch. I'm not sure if it was a contrast of styles, but I thought it was so scrappy and lacking in skill. I found it quite a slog to watch and apart from their endeavour, neither has gone up in my estimations.

I haven't seen them yet to be honest. Saw results this morning but been battling with the kids most of morning whilst the wife was out doing a 10k. Hopefully get chance to watch them soon

I found it hard to watch as well, in fact I fast forwarded the tenth and eleventh rounds. I don't know how good the WBC & WBO Jose Ramirez is, but with the exception of Ramirez and possibly Victor Postal, the Light Welterweights looks pretty average. So I think Taylor could be around for a while yet.

Yeh it looks like a very weak division.
Though Taylor is still pretty much a novice as far as experience goes, could possibly have a lot more to give.
 
Ok this should be a review on Canelo v Kovalev, but it's a non fight as far as I'm concerned.

So let's move on to a fighter who has developed an aura that few fighters if any have in the world now. The man who seemingly has bowling balls in his gloves. None other than The "Monster". This wrecking machine who consistently kos fighters with body shots makes another appearance on Nov 7th.

Thoughts on his upcoming fight please chaps?

Inoue is a beast and will hopefully in time go down as an all time great. He will win this one and again probably by stoppage. I am a huge fan of his and I may have mentioned 14 or 15 times how I got to see him fight live however it will be a little bittersweet for me as I love Nonito Donaire. He is a great fighter, a great champion and a great man but he is a good few years past his best and I really wish he wasn't the one in the opposite corner for this one.

Yes Nonito has indeed been a great champion over the years. It does appear like he is the lamb in this encounter though.

I'm a huge fan of both men too. I remember seeing Inoue win his first title when he flogged the very talented Adrian Hernandez (who's now gone off the boil) at 108 pounds. It was a brutal performance. The Monster goes into the fight a red hot favourite, at the moment he's 1-9 with Nonito a 9-1 chance.

I'm hoping like crazy though that this fight will be more than the odds suggest. We all know that Innoue is someone special and is expected by some to put the Filipino Flash away pretty easily, but I think not .... well hope not. There could be more to this fight than first thought. Innoue is a small man, he stands just 5'5'' and has a smallish reach, 67.5". As mentioned above, he won his first belt at 108, he's now at 118. And it looks as though the wily old Donaire is now relishing his drop from 125 down to the 118 of the Super Series. He has pop again. And he has considerable height and reach on the Monster. I can't be sure, but I think Nonito has been victorious in something like 18 world title bouts.

Along with Manny Pacquiao and Donnie Nietes, Nonito Donaire is a true legend of Philippines boxing. I wish him all the best in the upcoming clash.
