That's a nice spot Ron. I knew nothing about him so went and had a quick look. He's a fighter on a hurry to get somewhere. According to the clip below, Faure fought 10 times last year. He fought a badly over matched man last time out, but he looked promising. Still, I think he's way off the goods just yet, especially as he's only about 220 pounds and fighting poor opposition. Maybe he is a chance against the better Brits though. Boxrec has him rated 66 in the world.

If you can put up with the ads in the clip, you can get an idea of the man's ability. He clearly has some.

A lot of Cuban fighters have a lot of success because they usually have long amateur careers as they aren't allowed to turn professional in the country. It's not necessarily a bad thing the long amateur career though. I think nowadays with the money thrown about kids turn pro a bit too soon sometimes.

It is **** like Benn coming back that does so much harm to the sport. The other thing that's recently really pissed me off is these two YouTubers who have turned 'professional' to have a fight and will be on pay per view in America. That's bad enough but then to add insult to injury you have a very talented British Boxer in the form of Billy Joe Saunders making his American debut and defending his world title tucked away on the undercard, what an insult

I think the BBBoC has denied Benn a licence, so he's on the hunt for a dodgy one.

As for Sakio Bika, he had a few soft fights 2 years ago, but has faced some serious men during his career. Andre Ward, Adonis Stevenson, Anthony Dirrell (twice) etc, none of whom have been able to stop him. He has a decent chin. Benn was a class above him when they were at their best though.

Its disappointing especially after all the talk of a Dubois/Joyce matchup. That would be interesting. On the subject of Joyce I see that he's been ordered to face former cruiserweight king Marco Huck for the vacant European Heavyweight title. I'm not sure how much Huck has left and especially up at heavyweight but could be an interesting one for Joyce who is only 10 fights into his pro career.

On the subject of match making I'm pretty disappointed in Eddie Hearns latest. Its been announced that Callum Smith will defend his WBA 'super' title on November 23rd against John Ryder. Ryder is a likeable enough guy and isn't bad but he's proven before that he's some way short of the top level. He's bounced back with four wins since his latest defeat against Rocky Fielding just over two years ago but the opposition hasn't exactly been elite. I expected a better opponent for Smith. I can only hope that bigger fights and bigger names will come after this one for Smith and this one will act as more of a tune up fight for him.

Really took Spence Jr into the trenches.
Fair play to Porter, even though I do hate his bulldozing style.

I'm still trying to work out if Spence was slightly exposed by Porter, or that he showed yet another skillset.

I think Porter put up his best effort since that huge clash with Thurman in 2016, and stamped himself as a quality fighter. But Spence was just too big and powerful. I think it's fair to say that Spence was exposed a bit, but I don't think he'd faced someone as in his face as Porter. If Porter is up for it, he can make anyone look below par.

It's too bad that Terence Crawford sleeps outside the Haymon tent. It's pretty cold out there.

Its lucky for Spence Jr, as Bud would be far too much for him in my humble opinion.

There's an interesting fight coming up next weekend in New York. The famed Madison Square Garden plays host to a World Middleweight Title clash between Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin and Ukraine's Sergiy Derevychenko. At stake are the two vacant titles of the IBF and IBO. The latter was shaded on points, losing by split decision to Daniel Jacobs when making his first shot at a world title late last year. GGG is 1-4 while Derevychenko is 4-1. I suppose GGG should win, but he's 37 and maybe not as sharp as he once was. I'd hate to see him finish his career as a punching bag.

Quite an interesting fight this one. I watched when Derevychenko fought Jacobs. Hes a tough come forward type of fighter and cant be dismissed.
So it should be a bit of a tear up however long it lasts.

Even though he is 37, I expect GGG to prove too powerful and resourceful. But i think its definitely worth a watch.

Another day and another ridiculous boxing story comes out. It turns out that Evander Holyfield, yes that Evander Holyfield, the only 4 time world heavyweight champion in history and arguably the best cruiserweight to ever step in the ring, at the age of 57 is to climb back through the ropes for an 'exhibition' fight for charity in Japan next year. I suppose the plus side if there is one is that it's not for a 'real' fight. The news comes as its revealed his 21 year old son Evan is set to make his professional debut on the Canelo/Kovalev card. Like Benn it seems Holyfield can't just let his kid have the spotlight, they need to step back into it themselves. Yet another stain on the sport I love.

I’m not a Dubois fan but I genuinely think Joyce is atrocious and Dubois would KO him in 2-3 rounds.

Agree about Smith, really disappointing.

GGG in a bit of a slugfest this Saturday we think? I’d love to see him in a couple more superfights before he calls it time.

Which leads me to....Smith v GGG at Anfield?

If Canelo is stepping up to Light Heavy it might be a little while until he’s back at middle, so GGG could cash in on the UK scene and step up to 168lbs? That would really interest me and I think Smiths size would give him a 50-50 chance?
