Last Tuesday, WBC Bantamweight Champion Shinsuke Yamanaka stepped into the ring to defend his title, won in 2011, for the 13th time. The lineal title was also on the line. His opponent was the No1 ranked Mexican 22 year old Luis Nery. Yamanaka was 34. I couldn't find an English commentary, but the fight said it all.

Yesterday Dillian Whyte climbed in an American ring for the first time, and fronted a crowd of about 3. The place was empty. His opponent Malcolm Tann of Arizona, was in there to take a pounding. After nearly nine years out of the ring, Tann was stopped by the Russian prospect Sergey Kuzman at his first outing this time in. Dillian Whyte was his second dance partner. He did what he was paid for, he took a pounding.
Whyte unloaded some vicious body shots, but actually looked pretty ordinary. I'm a White fan, but he just ain't in the same league as Joseph and Wilder. I think Parker, Pulev and a **** load of others would easily handle him too. He says he'd be a better chance against AJ if he had another shot, personally, I think he'd get massacred. AJ has moved onto another level.

Well well well, the boxing forums are a fire with the news that Vasyl Lomachenko next opponent will be the Cuban super star Guillermo Rigondeaux. Bob Arum, Loma's man has December 9 penciled in for his next bout. Until today, there was no idea who he'd fight, now it may just be Rigo. This would be a massive fight, with two of the best technicians in the game taking on each other. Problem though is that Rigo will have to step up from 122 pounds to 130 for the match up.
Renowned sports commentator Dan Raphael released the news today. He said he'd been told that Rigondeaux would be Lomachenko's next opponent. Here's hoping so. Loma would probably be too big, but what a clash. Fingers cross it all comes off. Two Olympic gold Medalists and all.

Terence Crawford's win just reiterated the old saying in the sport about levels. He demolished inside three rounds the man who beat 'multiple world champion' Ricky Burns. Now I don't rate Burns that highly myself and to me he shows why there's too many belts around, yet based on titles he was a world champion quite recently and imagine what Crawford would do to him 
Loma beats Rigo every day if the week IMO too. In fact I'd very nearly suggest the two chaps I'm talking about (Crawford and Loma) could well be the very best two pfpers on the planet, or certainly right at the head of the convo.

Crawford already beat Ricky Burns over 3 years ago, he completely outclassed him in taking a one sided points decision in Glasgow. Rigondeaux is quality but i agree Beefy that Lomachenko beats him and its Crawford/Lomachencko we NEED to see happen

UFC fans are rabid in support of their man, but their outlays are small compared to the onslaught of the "sharps" who are now rushing from the woodwork in droves. MGM Sportsbook has taken $1,000,000 to lose $182,000 on Mayweather. Navada's William Hill accepted $1,200,000 to lose $240,000 on Mayweather. There has also been a flood of bets ranging between $300,00 to $880,00 to win small, all on the same man. I also read a report that someone had $12,000,000 on Mayweather, but it's probably bullshit. According to a company called CG Technology, as of last Wednesday, for every $137 bet on McGregor, $5,900 has been wagered on Mayweather.
I don't know how all the betting adds up, but from what I've been reading, the total number of small - smaller investments on McGregor has the bookies all a sweat. Interesting stuff.

“Every night in bed before I go to sleep I’ve been thinking about it – what’s going to happen if I become world champion. I’ve been getting these real kicks and buzzes because I know I can do it,” explained McGregor, who boxes at Meadowbank Amateur Boxing Club.
“I’m going to treat every fight like it’s the final and hopefully I have enough to do what it takes. I know there are some real good guys here but I know on my day I can beat any of them. I just need to stick to the game plan. I know people always say ‘it’s the best I’ve felt’ but that’s genuinely the case this time around.” McGregor added: “Warawara was at the Rio Olympics last year so he’s no mug. We have to put our bodies through so much so we can fight and then go again two days later. This whole thing is strange El. It plays on the imagination. As you've said, a McGregor win seems almost impossible, but for some reason, a lot of us sort of start doubting the certainty we once held. Floyd should smash Conor, but I can't get the negatives out of my head. I keep reading that Floyd's dad has said that the 40 year old has lost some of his skills, that he's not the man he once was. I guess we all know that anyway. And then there's the fact McGregor is not only in the prime of his career, but he'll likely out weigh Mayweather by a stone or so after re-hydration. And some "cut" film clearly shows that he has a big left hand.
