Jr reckons they were in contract negotiations (also claims he personally never saw a contract) to fight but GGG took this without warning
Can see why. Eubank would have stopped GGG tonight. He's a different animal to the fighter that BJS just about beat.
Who is the guy interviewing GGG on the HBO feed? What a bellend. Brook was more than 'competitive' in this fight. He held his own against him and landed some decent shots.
Brook doesn't have any power, not sure what you lot are on about. This was always going to be a sparring match for GGG. Total mismatch and Mel just wanted the cash. Simple.
Apparently something about an injury to Brook? If true, I'm guessing his ankle. He looked uncomfortable immediately after slipping.
From BBC: 23:40 Kell Brook: "I'm devastated. I expected him to be a bigger puncher, in the second round I think he broke my eye socket. "I was starting to settle into the fight but I was seeing three or four of him out there. Believe me I hurt him. When you are in a fight you can see every movement and I saw his legs buckle a couple of times. "I would fight him again. I hope the fans enjoyed the fight. I wish it could go on, but I didn't know which one to hit. "We will go back to the drawing board, I think I would be suited at light middleweight. I know Canelo and Liam Smith are fighting next week. "I'm a warrior I want to carry on, you have to kill me in here."
Brook was throwing light punches, guys a total noob. GGG gave a poor performance but still won with total ease, true fighter. GGG on another night could have knocked Brook out in 1 round, luckily for Brook GGG was way off his game. Purely a money spinner this fight (like most these days). Using his eye as an excuse - kind of the point of landing one on the eye?!
Obviously it won't happen, but I'd love to see a rematch at LM. One thing for certain, Khan will definitely be staying the **** away from Brook after that performance
He's broke his eye socket! Can't do **** all about that. How can that be labelled an excuse? Brook landed some hurtful shots on GGG there.
Brook already talking light middleweight and basically gg hurt the guy and his corner did the right thing. As for eubank jr? He would and will be decimated by this guy. Plus he and his father are chumps. Pair of ****ing ****ers
He might lose but I don't think it will be as easy as people think. He's good a good chin and he's a vicious puncher himself. Other than the BJS fight which he got the tactics wrong (wins a rematch easy) his tactics have been spot on. Kell Brook broke his eye socket in round 2 and the fight got stopped by his corner. Yes, he probably would have been stopped by GGG in rounds 6-8 but, Kell, not once looked like he was going to get ko'd in those 5 rounds and he's a welterweight. Eubank is bigger, stronger and far more powerful than Brook. He'd have given GGG nightmares last night. Just like his father, I think he's the real deal. Good enough to beat GGG? Probably just falls short, but he beats every other middleweight imo.
It was the right decision. He looked to be struggling at that point and its best to be protected by your corner. He did much better than many thought he would. Who next for Brook, because there is no shame stepping up two weights. Would like to see the other guy do that and see what happens
Eubank Jr isn't ready for a guy of this calibre. Brook having a rematch is a laugh. The bottom line is this guy had a shocker and still won by TKO. He's next level to the guys we're mentioning. If GGG is on his game, he's an absolute beast. Against better opposition than Brook he'll be on his game for sure, he didn't take Brook seriously, the guy was ill for a while before the fight, had a very mixed lead up training wise. He was well below par and did a job. He's too clever for people like Eubank Jr.
