Could not agree more. Bowyer is a thug pure and simple and he is finished as a player. We have enough in midfield already. Dont need anymore. Mckenna is a far better option for Hull City. Ipswich is well away from Hull thank god. 2nd game of season should show us as well.

This is getting a bit tedious. The fact is that I'm basing my argument on; A. A single asian man who was beaten to a pulp by a gang of white youths B. The fact that racist verbal abuse was cleary used. C. That the policeman in charge of the case seemed bemused that the racial language was not told to the jury. Your argument revolves around technical legal issues about what evidence was deemed acceptable to the court. You say "some people will only believe what they want to." Your right but you seem to fit into that category more than most.

@ Dutch Mountain Dog. Are you really serious or do you have some kind of right wing agenda in defending Bowyer against accusations of racism? If it is the latter then maybe you should come clean and use the same - bulldog in front of a union jack avatar that you use on the City Independant board. There are enough posts on here giving other examples of the man's racist history, but I fail to see how anyone can see the attack on the asian youth as anything but racist.
Unless anyone on here knows Lee Bowyer personally I don't see how they can say with any certainty that he is or isn't a racist. Similarly, unless you were there on the night in question you will never know what went on. For what it's worth, from what I have read my view is that the allegation that it was a racist attack came from the victim's father and not the victim himself. The Sunday Mirror published an article during the first trial in which the victim's father said that he believed that the attack was racially motivated. That caused the first trial to be abandoned, and the Mirror being fined for contempt of court. If evidence that the offensive words were used was never put to the jury I would suggest that the CPS and/or the QC representing them at trial never thought that it had any evidential weight. Bowyer was acquitted of all charges (GBH and affray) by a jury who heard all of the evidence, and who deliberated for 22 hours before delivering their verdict. One of the co-accused was convicted of inflicting GBH on the victim and sentenced to 6 years. If the offensive words were used, could they not have been said by the convicted? I am not trying to suggest that Bowyer is a saint - he's an easy person to dislike, but people saying that (1) notwithstanding the not guilty verdict he carried out the assault; and (2) he is/is not a racist are simply guessing.
So as none of us know Marlon King I want to say he is a really really likeable chap as his friends all say so. So does his agent and lets not forget his partner stuck by him too. I am sure Dutch Mountain Dog has no problem with Marlon.
