Yeh, good post Nines, best on this thread IMO. Ain't no big admirer of Anton as a football player, and I do rate Traore more than many on here I think, But no need to blame everything on Ferdinand today, he was partially to blame for one goal but no more. I think it was Nelsen who f*kked up on the other corner. Hughes played Clint at LB and would have probably moved him there when Traore got a knock today, and put Anton at CB, so Bowen did better than that.
Cheers Oslo, I think your right with the point you made. It would of been a masterstroke had it come off and we wouldn't have even needed Harry. It would of saved us bundles having Bowen and Eddie in charge. It says a lot that United had to prey on our achilles heel to find the breakthrough today, set pieces, rather than through open-play. I've never seen Van Persie made to look so impotent.
Set pieces are our achiles heel all right. Arry and co have got to sort them out quick. Doesn't seem to matter who plays, we are very bad there, corner against is almost a pen as I think Flyer said. Though having said that I think we are organised best when Clint plays.
Yes indeed, the 'old guard' performed well today. Passion counts for so much. Hill's frustration when his header was cleared off the line by Da Silva was good to see. The man is a ranger through and through.
Yeh you right on the passion. Don't know if it was Bowen or Arry that picked the team, but including Clint, Derry, and Mackie from the start seemed to give us an aggressive spine / bottle right through the middle of the park, a will to give it a real go that seemed to inspire all the others, or most anyway, not too sure about Cisse. Got to say as well that Mackie finally had a really good game in one he also started.
Absolutely spot on. We were winning and were going to finsih the job with another quick breakaway at some point. Then they decided to shut up shop witha useless lump that was not even prepared to put himself about.
Watch the replays carefully especially the slo mo. The useless lump not even jumping with the United man who heads across the box for the first goal and actually scores the second is Anton Ferdinand. And who precisely is supposed to make the tackle when an opponent attacks our right wing. The r/b or his replacement. Anton Ferdinand. Until the substitution we did not look to be in any real danger. Ferguson clearly agreed. Otherwise he wouldn't have made the substitutions he did when he did.
I don't post anything to 'win people over' bruv. My point was being made to Swords. I would of preferred to do it by PM but unfortunately this offer was ignored. The matter, in my eyes at least, is now over, so please try not to drag it on any longer.
The annoying thing about playing big teams like United is that they can score at any given time, even against the run of play. So, even if we didn't change the back four and Traore was not injured, they may have still scored. Who's to know. But I did also make some kind of rude exclamation when Ferdinand came on.
To be fair to Bowen he showed dignity and decency yesterday both at the match and in interview. Big difference from that arrogant tosser Hughes.
