Yeah it's almost like they would be saying "We kinda knew he wasn't the right fit but after our Puel **** up we didn't have the bottle to not appoint him, so we gave him a 3 year contract on £2/3m a year which we'll have to pay off now... having realised it's not going to work"
Yeah I know mate it was just funny how it happened cos you were still showing as online and had caused a couple of pages of activity
Just a thought, (if there is any truth in the rumour) but maybe it’s Hughes that wants out. I never felt that he really wanted to be here and now that he has had a few months starting from scratch, maybe he can’t see a way of improving results given the players we have.
He probably would have been better off leaving in the Summer while his stock was relatively high. Sit it out and enjoy Christmas and wait for the call in the new year to try and save some club who will give you a £1m bonus for keeping them up, and once you do reward you with a 3yr contract worth £6m+ which you'll undoubtedly be sacked from (and paid up on) within a year. Not a bad gig really is it...
He has a job doesn't he? Won't be on Les Reed's extensive shortlist that he has been tracking for decades. Definitely doesn't just google "unemployed football managers"
Like I said earlier and Magic alludes to above, the most important criteria will be 'available'. Particularly after a pay out to Mark...
Is there a manager who's recently left a midtable Spanish club with the initials MP? He's bound to be the bollocks.
Can you imagine the glee in the media if we sack Hughes and end up in a relegation scrap anyway. The pundits will have a field day: 'they sacked the guy who got 8th place and a cup final. Then they sacked the guy that kept them up' Whilst never actually looking at anything to do with how we played
