Not read anything yet, but three thoughts:

1 - anyone still think Virgil is ‘just going through the motions’? They weren’t watching today if so.

2 - Redmond is much better on the right. Who would have thought?

3 - it wasn’t a penalty. Thank god for Thierry Henry and those eye things in his head, in front of a brain.

BBC Sport ask if Fraser deserves to go to Russia in the World Cup. They post this interesting stat:

“Fraser Forster (centre) has the sixth-best save percentage in the Premier League this season”

I’ll leave that one just there :)

But surely not before you've called for the manager's head on a plate?

Let's consider this. Just played a team who are scrappy just now. We didn't play as well as we did against City who are a team in form. So is there a remote possibility that the opposition played a part? Not that our level has been nose-bleedingly high, but it would be typical Saints. I recall one of those runs that Saints have when they hadn't won since Victoria was on the throne, it seemed, when a very good Man Utd team rode into town and we spanked them. Dave Beasant was our keeper that day, and was asked to explain our performance. Simple, said Dave, against United we could play football.

    Just a thought.

Sorry. Over thinking this. Drop Forster and sack Pellegrino. There you go, a much more populist response to not a bad point.

Was that after the last two games? My gut feeling is he saved more shots the last 180mins than he has the last 12 games. His reaction save at the start of the Bournemouth game was incredible.

    Having slept on it.
that penalty was stonewall to me. No way we should have got away with that. If that was one of our players going down....
Nothing at all was happening for Boufal you could see the black cloud over his head. till gets A for effort, he's up and down the pitch all game. D- for that miss though.
Selection was wrong for that game and the subs were a bit backwards. Davis shouldn't have started and he should have been subbed for Lemina at HT. Davis just not great as a DM.
JWP deserved to stay on and I don't think Redmond added anything again. MP2 continues to baffle me but not as much as before.
I like Charlie Austin, liked him last season, like him even more at the moment.
We are looking and acting more like a team playing for each other. Thats been our biggest miss this season, glad to have it back.

Redmond supplied the assist and was more effective on the right.

That why i like Hojbjerg. He won't always pass it forward, but when there's a forward pass available, he'll make it. A very big factor why we looked so good against everton

Despite it not being his day, he was still involved a lot in the good stuff we did second half. We must not fall Into he trap of piling on the pressure the moment someone like him has a not so good game. He still contributed and he still looks to drive forwards.

I really hope the fans cut him some slack if and when he has other not so hot performances. He is going to be our diamond if we allow him to.

They played pretty similiar tbh. Couldnt say one was more effective. Main difference was the speed we got the balls out to the wing on both sides.
