So does Semyeno at present. It didn't help by instead of attempting a shot from the edge of the area on multiple occasions, we tried to walk it in.
There is good news from last night, it took the Bournemouth manager 45 minutes to sus out what Barnsley, Middlesborough and Swansea knew from the start, high press us and make it physical in midfield and we will eventually crack, hopefully 2 things will happen, 1. there are managers who haven't worked that one out yet and 2. if it takes the opposing manager 45 minutes to work that out then, learn to take your chances.
So Junior's doing the rounds touting for a job and now stoops looking for reflected glory with Bakinson and Semenyo. Why the hell did he persist with Massengo not once giving the older Bakinson an opportunity. He's full of sh+t.
Trying as hard as I can doesn't make me believe anything will change under our supposed new regime and to hear our ex-manager spouting off about the players will not help change a single thing. Basically I have come to the conclusion that "things" will never change down at Ashton Gate and the unwarranted belief that one day we will achieve a higher level is just pure fantasy. However in these trying times we all need to have dreams and ambitions and my main one is to see my 2 lovely granddaughters in Alberta because under the current, and possible long term, restrictions it may well be over 2 years since we have been together, and at their ages they will have grown up significantly. Even under these difficult circumstances I will still support my lifetime club, but there are things way more important that will certainly change over time but I don't include my footballing dreams in that equation. Stay safe everybody and we will all come back stronger.
I merely made an observation, any team that doesn’t score when they’re on top will pay the price I understand your frustration , but your a City fan of many years , it’s what we do , you should be used to it by now .
He has really been handing out his pearls of wisdom today https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...-johnson-pinpoints-area-encouragement-4650075 https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/lee-johnson-singles-out-bristol-city-players-for-praise/ https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/f...tol-city-transfer-plot-to-sign-millwall-star/
Not sure Massengo would have done any worse than was displayed last night....we are still out of sorts.....sometimes you have to tinker!!
First half we were okay. -Second half Bournemouth were the only side that wanted to win it. City are back to standards of last season. Mid table will be a reasonable finish. Traits of last season are showing.
I would just like to make a comment about players that we signed from France and the French game in particular. As most people on here know I lived in France for 16 years and watched mainly FC Lorient in the French top division, I also watched Rennes a lot and Nantes and even watched OC Vannes when they were in the 2nd tier. The French game has probably better technical players overall than the UK but the French game is slow and certainly not physical, some of the French physios are some of the most underemployed people in France. I saw Diedhiou play one of his last games for Angers before we signed him and he looked a beast playing upfront on his own, something he fails to bring to his game with us and I think the reason he and Massengo struggle is because of the physicality of the UK game. In France Diedhiou would look far better and Massengo would be being courted as an up and coming superstar, attracting attention from bigger clubs than us.
I thought we were very unlucky not to be 1 or 2 goals up at half time. In the second half after we conceeded I didnt understand why Holden took off a striker then 5 minutes later put 2 more on?
