more painfully I think we need to rest max for one and I think he got a knock on Saturday, so we might well see atsu on Thursday … real shame about Ritchie we needed him during this period

If Max doesn't play I'd rather see Almiron on the left with Joelinton right and Gayle through the middle

From what I've seen they look mint. Sometimes can drop off a bit due to the way they play from the off but the football they are playing is quality and they are a real team.

Where'd he play at Atlanta? If he could play like that I'd appreciate it.

    left or in the middle

I'm amazed nobody saw the connection in his drop in performance and being played on the right all season .

he is the most one footed player you are going to get and he's not comfortable there

I dont think his performance has dropped at all this season compared to last.. He is still providing the energy and drive and creating chances. Not sure his finishing will ever improve but he brings plenty to the team.

Think him being there gives Yedlin a chance to get forward more as well and he needs defensive help whereas Willems is better defender so Almiron on right rather than left gives better balance to team.

Ok but he just gave you a reason as to why he isn't played there. <laugh>

I think once Ritchie is back they'll be shuffled about.

Absolutely, he made loads of assists and scored for fun last season, and who can forgot the quality crosses he was regularly putting in. But to mention his fantastic defensive work.
He's miles better than ASM in my opinion, and should therefore play where he wants.

well he's got one assist and he was on the left smart arse and he does cross better from left... he's got goals playing in the middle or left for Paraguay and in the mls .. Instead of being such a smart arse why don't you look and see where he looks more comfortable on he ball over the next few games. I just think it's sickening when fans criticise and blame players when they're played out of position. It's also worth mentioning that max prefers the middle , so given we have a serious issue up top I see no reason not to try playing players in their best positions

No! Real Madrid and FC Barcelona getting relegated (for dodgy financial dealings, if any could be found a la Juve) would far surpass anything bad that could befall either Manchester United or Sunderland.

Imaginary situación, but are they any cleaner than Juve?

Bit like Rangers? Oh and nothing will ever beat sunderland getting relegated from the Premier League. Except sunderland getting relegated to Division 3. Except sunderland getting pumped off Peterboro and Joey Bartons Fleetwood. Except sunderland getting knocked out of the FA Cup in Round 1

You really have got it for Sunderland. Now be objective! Real Madrid and Barca are far more detestable than a League One club.

He has much to learn and should not yet be starting. I think Dummett would be more threatening than him. :)

Steve bruce knows best - the forum version, I must stress.

Almiron should be left side, Max should be heading over to the right. I don't know why the "real" Bruce doesn't do it, hard to understand why it wouldn't work a bit better.
