mixed opinions.... http://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=139301&sid=4bd539c0266894ce4431557028427328 Zaha sounds like he's not pulling up any trees either....
Even Allam wouldnât be that stupid. Ehab said the club would be run for the benefit of the shareholders. Remaining in the Premier League is the only way the shareholders can benefit short and long term â a fire-sale, then relegation would hardly touch the sides. Therefore, even if itâs a reduced spend (which many people would approve of anyway), the benefit to the shareholders will mean providing a team that protects your investment â the clubâs PL status. Anything other than this, then Allamâs last standing fibre (that of a successful and intelligent business man) will also wither on the vine.
I always personally thought Bolasie was better than Zaha. But because Zaha is English (sort of) he gets noticed more.
Admittedly, he did well in 2012/13, but he was well over rated. The London club factor was a big aspect too; if he'd been playing for us, for example, he'd have been hardly mentioned.
I know AA is determined to get us into Europe and sees that as some kind of all time high for the club. With promo last season, Wembley next week & our PL status assured, he should'nt even need it in terms of positive legacy in the city. Disastrously, he has created the mother of all toxic legacies with the threatened extinction of the club that has represented our city for 110 years. Without this hubristic madness, he should have had the keys to the city. But now his standing among Ferens, Reckitt, Gelder, Pearson, Rank and Pickering as a benefactor in the city's history is irrevocably tarnished. His only shot at redemption, is to do the hardest thing of all for him. Admit he was wrong, change his course, accept he is fallible and others sometimes know more than he does. He may then find that the public - and history- see him in a benevolent light.
Quite a tragedy and he's gone from universal approval to only now commanding the respect of the weak, the bought and the plain stupid: a trinity that will forget him in no time at all anyway. How he managed such a reversal is utterly amazing. I wonder how his family genuinely views the situation? Have they gone from being the toast of the town, all smiles whenever they walk into a room; to gossip behind their back, distrust and general ignominy? Do they feel they have to defend the man on a daily basis? As you point out, the solution is simple. Sadly, the chances of him taking humility as an option are very small.
Any shrewd operator would have seen the anger and dismay and thought "Hang on, what am I doing here? My core customers are angry and upset- this is clearly very important to them even if to me it seems utterly irrelevant. No business thrives when it steamrollers its customers strongly-held viewpoints. There's more to this than I thought." It's odd that such a successful businessman treats his most loyal customers like his least valued suppliers. Even odder that his reaction to the fuss is to press harder on the accelerator and lash out at his customers, rather than having the humility - and business acumen- to change direction and style. Has he renamed his core business 'Tiger Marine' yet? If not, why not? Perhaps one of the pro name change lickspittles or quislings could answer on his behalf?
Just for anyone who's a bit confused, the thread is called "Bottom 3 panic sales". It's about the players who might be available from relegated clubs.
nice sentiment Craig but you might have more luck popping to the seaside to try and stop the tide coming in and going out.
Apparently Allam has already done it. He used dozens of turbines to create a reciprocal current flow....The evil sod!!
Caulker would be a disastrous choice. He has been a big contributor to Cardiffs awful defence this year. In contrast Davies has been the rock of our very good defence and a great captain and team leader as well. Caulker is hardly Championship standard. Roy is clueless.
Rodallega has a decent game 1 in 3...I don't think the Fulham fans have much faith..IMHO Snodgrass would be a good signing, though not sure Brucie would agree. Redmond would probably go to somewhere like Everton or Newcastle. Wes Hooligan, though probably Villa bound. Parker from Fulham has a squad player.
I typed in 'Hull' in the search engine and obsessed doesn't even begin to describe it. Bruce sweeping them 3 times in 1 season with players(Meyler, Elmo, little Bruce, etc) they rated as being **** will stick with most of them for the rest of their football lives.
Bottom 3 buys could also be added to with 'failed to get promoted' buys. Chung Yong-Lee has been linked from Bolton, and would be a good signing. Assou-Ekotto would be a good addition at left-back. Shaun Maloney, Callum McManaman from Wigan. Leonardo Ulloa from Brighton. Ikechi Anya would be a good wing-back option from Watford. Niko Kranjcar or Junior Hoilett wouldn't be bad squad additions. Aaron Cresswell another good option at left-back (and has the joint highest number of assists this season in the championship). Garath McCleary from Reading - good option for a winger. Also think Michail Antonio at Sheff Weds would be a good winger option as a squad player. ---------------------- As for the bottom 3, it depends which teams they are: West Brom: Scott Sinclair (if Man City don't want him) Youssouf Mulumbu Liam Ridgewell James Morrison Ben Foster Norwich: John Ruddy Robert Snodgrass Martin Olsson Leroy Fer Anthony Pilkington Hooper or Van Wolfswinkel (if available on the cheap) Sunderland: Vito Mannone Adam Johnson Steven Fletcher Emanuele Giaccherini Fulham: Brede Hangeland Steve Sidwell Pajtim Kasami Ashkan Dejagah Lewis Holtby (if Spurs don't want him) Bryan Ruiz Hugo Rodallega Konstantinos Mitroglou (if they're happy to take a £10 million loss, haha) Cardiff: Fraizer Campbell Gary Medel Craig Noone Jordan Mutch Steven Caulker David Marshall ------------------------------- We all know we need a new left-back. Then possibly a winger (or 2) A back-up striker if Fryatt leaves. An attacking midfielder. A central defender to replace Faye (preferably to challenge Chester to partner Davies, with Bruce and McShane dropping down the pecking order).
Snodgrass definitely...or Adam Johnson. Hoolahan and Parker have been great but like Koren have seen their best days. FC and Noone would be great additions. If Dudge does not make a full recovery we definitely need a reliable LB as Figgy's judgement is really suspect.
If Fulham go down then Kieran Richardson might be a decent shout. Can play anywhere down the left. Great strike for his goal yesterday anarl.
