When you talk about our relegation rivals remember that you never should underestimate teams when they are fighting for their lives. Hope villa beat Boltnn and we could breath little bit easier.......

well said but i sense a stale draw as both these clubs are poor ... we should of finished 8th .. hate it as we are at last showing everyone what we can do. i am convinced that we stay up and next year we will be a very solid team and will be knocking around 8th or even higher

Totally agree. Pity that we didn't have this squad at the start of the season... I'd have thoughts we'd be looking down at the relegation fuss from the loft heights that the likes of Sunderland currently find themselves in.

Again confirms the Hughes record of slow starts and c.8th place spots as he goes on. He'll tweak the squad sufficiently to ensure he does that here. All good as long as we stay up. If not a long climb back.

It wouldnt have matter as we didnt have the right manager then, he would have just told them how fantastic it was to be playing the top sides and to try and not to lose by too many.

If QPR were facing that run in, I would be setting a realistic target of 8 points. Hope Bolton don't manage it, of course. If they do, that means we need four points, at which time our superior goal difference keeps us up. I think Blackburn are less of a worry and Wolves have had it.

I keep having this recurring dream that it all goes down to the last day and we end up needing something at the Etihad on the day that the Premiership title is to be decided...

I said a while back I thought it would be the first year the title, relegation battle and top 4 all go to the last day.

Sky will have a nightmare selecting the fixtures if that happens and ESPN might get a game or two as well. Every fixture bar one or two could have something riding on it for BOTH sides. Very interesting.

    Man City vs QPR
    Chelsea vs Blackburn
Sunderland vs United - finishing top half/Title
Spurs vs Fulham - top 4/finishing top half
Everton vs Newcastle - finishing above Liverpool/top 4
West Brom vs Arsenal - Automatic CL
    Stoke vs Bolton - Survival
    Wigan vs Wolves - Survival
Swansea vs Liverpool - Finishing above Everton

We're in for a cracking last day and possibly the most exciting in years.

The last 5 mins against Spurs were too much for me....let alone the last day if we need something at Citeh!!

Looking only at the fixtures it doesn't look too difficult for Bolton, but after seeing them yesterday at home to Swansea, I can't see them picking up too many points. We really should have beaten them at the Reebok, with or without the phantom Hill goal. I just hope that doesn't end up being the difference!

Know what you mean. All or nothing against City on the last day... our nerves'll be in tatters - not to mention the families etc.. if it all goes south!!

Couldn't resist the bbc predictor; we stay up on GD. Wigan (37) and Blackburn (34) drop. Villa above us on GD and I can finally get some sleep on a Saturday night. Til August anyway.

That fixture list for Bolton does worry me:

Aston Villa v Bolton Wanderers - Villa are poor at the moment
Sunderland v Bolton Wanderers - Sunderland have slipped a bit recently, but will be a tough game
Bolton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur - Spurs are sliding badly - as we saw. Bolton can beat them for sure.
Bolton Wanderers v West Bromwich Albion - WBA were there for the taking against us.
Stoke City v Bolton Wanderers - tough place to go.

I can easily see Bolton getting 3 wins there. Dont write them off. Anything can happen.

We put in one of our best performances of the season against City at home and still lost. It would take a monumental effort to even get a draw there. I fear we need at least a draw at the scum (though this is something I think we are capable of).

Citeh and Utd are by far the best teams I have seen this year - Spurs were great first match, but clearly aren't the real deal. Having said that the circumstances will put pressure on them as well as us ( being discussed on the Utd/ Everton thread). We can go in hope, if not expectation.

Surely this is why we are rangers boys and girls ... Deep breaths and feel alive ... After the **** we have had I want nothing less than 9 points at this time ... If we beat the plastic then I know we will finish high next year
Stoke is tough but City is a straight cup final and we will win it

Bolton have only won once in their last 5 and that was against Wolves.

Before that, their last away win was Jan 4th.
