Why does everyone forget Sturridge was one of our very few top scorers last season? Why on earth would you want to get rid of someone with that much potential?

I'd bet a lot of money that either of those won't be playing, it was already mentioned that De Bruyne would go out on loan again this season when we signed him and Kakuta still isn't good enough imo. Of course I'd rather give De Bruyne a shot but even so, is he good enough to replace Hazard or Marin if an injury were to occur?

I heard De Bruyne's best position is central? Might be wrong though.

i would keep mereiles, i do not think he needs to improve that much to be a decent player. As for sturridge it will be interesting to see how he plays under robbie. if robbie plays him he is surely going to have to gel with torres or spend his time on the bench which he will not like.

I hope to see him on as a replacement for Torres position not stuck out wide again.
If we are going to set out a system to have Torres in the middle then we need a player to play there when Torres can't and Sturridge is the closest thing we currently have to that.

exactly cpofl, and i do not think that sturridge will be happy with that, he thinks he is the best so naturally he will get the hump. Question is will he sulk or fight for the place.

He's 29 mate, can't see much improvement from here on in!

You always have to think about home grown players when deciding squads now. Kalou and Boswinga weren't. I can't remember exactly the stipulation, but I think it is to be registered three or five years under nineteen in the UK and something like about ten in a squad of twenty five. This is mainly why we persevere with Turnbull and Sturridge and probably has something to do with Hutchingson's re-emergence. So when you talk about foreign players being a transfer target you have to think about moving a foreign player out. This is why Arsenal and now Chelsea, Man U and Man City all vie for fifteen year olds and fee of up to a million pounds are paid especially when they aren't British.

Cech/Turnbull

Maicon/Hutchinson
Terry/Cahill
Luiz/Ivanovic
Cole/Bertrand

Modric/Lampard
Mikel/Ramires

Hulk/Sturridge
Hazard/Marin
Mata/DeBruyne

Torres/Lukaku

Romeu
McEachran
Piazon

Think this would make a good squad for next season.

Sturridge will be fighting with Torres for the striker role IMO with Lukaku as back up or out on loan.

Marin, Hazard, Mata, Malouda and maybe Ramieres to cover the remaining 3 slots (wide and 'number 10'). Still leaves us 1 or 2 short which should be made up from at least one youth player (Piazon, De Bruyne etc). One more signing needed especially if Malouda goes. Hulk?

Looks good to me. Not sure about Modric anymore!

For all their faults both were a big part of our CL win and other successes. Thanks to both.

Totally agree with this. Boswinga played his part in our CL win, and people have very poor memories when Kalous' career is mentioned. Look it up on the CFCS web site, quite impressive.
I wish them both well and thanks .
