I mulled over Eto'o but for the monies he'd want that'd be a daaaamn expensive super-sub. For me I thought Schwarzer would be a good shout, Lescott too presuming his wage demands weren't too high. You could even make a case for Barry as a back up. People may mock but we always have injuries and last season I was relieved we had an (injured) Kallstrom to call upon. Yea gads!
That's the problem with both Eto'o and Cole, they will have huge wage demands about them. I think Eto'o is good to go for a primary sub role, anything more then I can't see him last. In my opinion, he is more clinical than any of our strikers, so the risk would be worth it if we manage him properly. He has 2 seasons max left in him.
Eto'o used to be clinical. Last season he was 0.10 for shot conversion. Thats 1 goal every 10 shots. Giroud faired better at 0.14 but that still only half as efficient as Europe's top strikers. Suarez (0.29), Aguero (0.30), Ibra (0.40).
He was injured a lot and didn't get a good run of games. It was also his first season in the Premiership. We will see what he does in the WC and see if he's still got it.
Pace was a huge part of his game too which has largely gone. Could whoop Giroud in a sprint but then so can my pet brick so it's nothing to take pride in.
It was. Weirdly in an Arsenal shirt he would never have shot then. He always passes in that position.. drives me up the wall.

the goalie for 2nd choice in EPL, and play in league cup and fa cup. Lescott for back up CB in EPL, and play in league cup and fa cup. Barry to add to midfield cover in EPL, and play in league cup and fa cup. all would be good additions to squad as have quality and come free so only wages to pay - sounds like AW type of purchase
