They play when we are in the cup 30th Jan, and also have the catch up game with Blackburn, so we will have to just try and keep in touch until the run in. The 18th March is already massive. Winners of that look a good bet for the title IMO. In March and April they have more away days so hope that is a bonus?
Oh piss off... It looked like Boro and Derby were starting to break away 3 or so games back. Now if we can beat Fulham next week, and Derby/Burnley play out a draw, we'll be six points clear of the playoff places. I don't give a **** about the title. Going up as runners-up will suit me fine.
Come the end of the season, the team with the most points wins this ****ty league. The runner up gets the same reward apart from a tinpot trophy and the next 4 teams fight It out in out in front of many who haven't attended for years but expect a Wembley ticket cos 'they always went in the bad times' and hate Man U or Weeds Utd. How simple to grasp can that be ? Allam OUT
Boro can be a bit like us and have highs and lows, lets see where we are when we play them, have a feeling that could be a crunch match, lets hope that it's our time to string a few wins together. Have a feeling we will both start to pull away from the chasing pack.
I'm the same but let's not get complacent. We started to get complacent earlier and look what happened.
I remember getting the train from London to Hull as Hull and Rovers fans were getting off a train to go to Wembley.
I'd like to see us get some consistency away from home before I get too excited, especially as we have virtually the whole top 6 to play away from home
Right now, Middlesbrough and City are the two outstanding teams in the division. Strong and deep squads, tight at the back and able to grind out wins. If anything, City probably have a stronger frontline than Boro, although we are one injury to Hernandez away from that changing. I think the rest of the top half teams are on another (lower) level. I've never been that convinced by Derby, they strike me as a side paying top dollar for bang average Premier League rejects. The other teams just don't have the resources to compete with us and Boro. The one exception might prove to be Burnley - they have goals aplenty, they have a well organised manager and they are looking to spend. They absolutely trashed Brentford on Friday. Plus, they have Gorgeous George Boyd.
As long as we only have one striker I won't be getting too confident. If he gets injured we'd struggle to make the playoffs IMO. As it is though we look very good.
I agree , in an ideal world we would only take 3,000 to the play off final. Use jumpers for goalposts and travel on horseback to Londinium.
walk..walk......you were lucky to walk young man,,,in my day you went to London on your eyelids carrying 400wt of jellied eels in one hand and other one was tied behind yer back.......walking indeed
Games in hand are only useful if you get something from them. Who says they'll win on Jan 30? and even if they do, that will negate their game in hand against Blackburn. If we progress against Bury / Bradford, we are the ones who will end up with a game (or games) in hand.
Hands , hands ! We were so poor we sold our hands as children to replace them with iron spoons so we could dig coal
Lucky bastard, I only had a wooden spoon and a cardboard fork and I had to clean the lavender man's bucket. I was lucky though for two years my mate was the bucket.
