Good sides find a way to win, last night and again tonight. Or good sides don't need to keep scraping injury time winners against middle of the table sides. You decide.
Obviously the former. It does my head in that those three are all doing that and we can't. It's so frustrating seeing how a half decent group of players can take this league by the balls, yet we haven't. We rely far too much on scoring first. This team just can't deal with a bit of adversity and it's hard to see why that is. It's not a team of divas; a lot of them are really committed and are obviously hurt when we fail, but they can never manage to come from behind and win, try as they might.
The spine of the 2007/8 team was far tougher. Wayne Brown, Ashbee, Windass ...three captains there. Throw in Clement and Pedersen and you have a lot of tough wise old heads. This lot are a better bunch of players in terms of skill but the sum of the parts is less than it should be....and character must be a big part of it. At Championship level character is far more important than it is in the PL, where skill counts for much more than character.
