Great result - shame we could not keep a clean sheet, but would have taken a 2-1 win if offered.

How often in the past have we seen a one on one with the keeper Watford player who cannot finish? Everytime Vydra gets in that position you think he will score and that has made a huge difference to our results I think.

The Championship table is looking even more interesting after that result, especially the play-off spots - and if we win our game in hand at Brizzle, it may look even more interesting.

    Dare we dream?

For the first time today..... I was looking at clubs below to see if we could stretch the gap..

We will now be seen as a strong contender......

Yes... just a little dreaming at this stage :)

New Year and Cardiff are lucky to hold on for a draw at home against struggling Ipswich.

Has the traditional bad run started for MM already?

With only 1 of the 5 teams above us getting a win, is it possible that watford could still get automatic this year? We do seem to be improving almost every game, I'd say defensively today was the best I have seen from watford, Boro never really had any stand out chances (except the goal)

Indeed, and apart from the Foxes all above us didn't get full points. Millwall below us too only drew. A good day indeed.

I think he was right to praise the defence. NN and Ekstrand I thought were very good indeed. As I don't see them very often I have to go on other's opinions. Ekstrand made some very timely interceptions and looked very calm, whereas his defensive capablities had been called into question. NN made a good replacement for one size and I felt confident that not too many of there players had the energy to run all of the way round him.

Boro I thought were a disappointment considering their home record, but I had to wonder if that was because of the way we played. Before the game started Jon Marks thought that they might have changed their style to try and counteract our five in mid-field. That shows that teams are worried about us and are more intent on stopping us than playing their own game.

Best finisher since MoJo... arguably better. Had Vydra had Forestieri's chance last week things could have been a bit different. I am getting excited about our prospects now, providing we can keep him fit and he maintains form... not that he is everything but he is the ace in the hole so's to speak.

Another great win. I know we've had a few poor results, but the surprise results, especially away (today, BeRightOn etc) far outweigh the poor ones. I think automatic is a bit far off, but play-offs? Absolutely no reason why not. For the first time I can really remember, we have strength in depth to cope with what the season throws at us!

Yes.... interesting the summarised with jon Marks was saying that Boro. had no ideal how to play against us as the game progressed... they tried everything.... we are looking stronger as every game foes by..

morning all. A great day out yesterday! Got there in good time which was just as well coz we had a bit of a trek from a parking space to the ground, but still managed to get there before the turnstiles opened lol.. Typical, when i leave early the traffic is clear, and if i leave it bit late (Sheffield Wednesday) i miss half a match! Anyway...a dire first half was very worrying but we started playing in the second half and although both sides had chances, we took ours and could have had a few more (which didn't do my bet much good but was great to see!). The only downside of the day was the diversion on the A1m on the way home which held us up by an hour, meaning i got home just in time to see us on the Football League Show! Apparently my daughter and i made it onto the live stream too, looking, by all accounts, very cold...which we were...but extremely happy with the result! :)

Performance-wise, i'd say Chalobah had a bit of a mare, his passing was off and he got pickpocketed often, but generally the individual performances were good and improved greatly by the second half, and Botocchio looks very good :). We're very lucky, i keep having to pinch myself to make sure this is still Watford, though if we get a points deduction, i'll know it's still us! Btw, you're right, the defense was very good and Doyley and NN particularly are playing like they've never been away. It's great to watch..just a shame about conceding right at the end...

Possible (especially given the way Malky's teams collapse in the latter part of the season), but we're still rank outsiders.

I'd rather win the playoffs than come second though, if I'm completely honest. Not that I'm taking even getting into them for granted, let alone winning them, but a playoff final at the new Wembley would be amazing.
