Yup. Hasn’t won us many points has he? What’s he going to do? Suggest McCarthy starts ahead of him? Or tear up his contract and drop down to league 1? It’s SR’s fault, again crap decision and was a factor in our relegation.
I feel that Bazunu is going to be one of those goalkeepers like Gazzanega who also looked promising and did not really fulfil his potential. I can see Bazunu being moved on . He should have stayed at Portsmouth where his career was progressing nicely.
Hard to know which is worse, our defence or Bazunu. I think both are beyond appalling right now tbh. Think bazunu could/should have saved Boro’s first. He has been better the last few to be fair to him. But every shot from distance seems to go in
I believe his confidence has taken a blow due to the crap set up in front of him by RM. Your picture speaks volumes.
Whatever the synopsis is, RM has imho have to take the majority of blame. His tactics don’t suit us because of whatever reason (brave) & we won’t sort this ****ing mess for at least a 10 plus period (at best). Couple of posters have said maybe he should have taken a more conservative/ pragmatic approach to implement which to me sounds sensible, especially when it obviously wasn’t working. However, wtf do I know!? Can’t see SR fixing short term nor medium. What a ****ing shambles! So sorry. We used to be good.
The phrase 'trying to run before you can walk' keeps returning to me. Although he does seem to have turned the dial back on the inverted full-back things, so maybe he is learning.
Biggest problem with having a young keeper is that you need an experienced, vocal head back there to organise the defence. Imagine the defenders giving it away like they do with Boruc in goal, or Super Kelv. They'd get a total bollocking. Baz isn't going to bollock anyone at 20 years old.
100% agree. I have said before that whatever metrics the club use for scouting and recruiting, they completely ignore two things: - Experience - Leadership They focus so heavily on stats and spreadsheets that they ignore reality. This is what you are left with. A team of kids and individuals with no team.
Serious question: so we go 2-1 down to a side bottom of league, obviously short of confidence & are going to be nervous for the remainder of the game. I didn’t watch nor have seen any highlights. What was our response? Did we up our game? Did we create good forward pressure & chances? Were they lucky to escape the 25 final mins without us scoring?
In my continuig attempt to analyse what the **** is going wrong ... RM says that his strategy is all about controlling the game, and he aims to do that with possession, but the first requirement of controlling a game is solid defence. If the opposition can score against you, you aren’t controlling the game, they are Secondly, you need some threat, otherwise they will press you higher Lastly, you can use possession, but it isn’t absolutely essential, you can nullify them without it … ironically our opposition is generally doing exactly that to us
No, we were lucky they didn’t score three more. The moment Aribo came on, I told the bloke next to me, we are screwed. When you are losing to the bottom team you don’t bring on a slow as as tortoise player. You need pace and trickery, ie Carlos. Hoped to win, expected to lose. Boro thoroughly schooled us, because they had pace, aggression and a desire to win.
Christ this is depressing. Didn't watch the game, but predicted we'd lose. I really wonder where SR are at with this. Is Russ really able to convince that them it will all be OK? I don't see this team digging themselves out from this unfortunately. I think Stephens is a big miss. Only true captain and leader we have. No idea about other managers available if they lose patience.
Stuie, Edozie and Sulemana made us look a bit more lively, but too little too late. Fraser had a bad game on the left. Need to put Edozie back out there.
