Did we? I don't think he could be expected to anticipate losing four to serious injuries at once. We have five on the books including Perch and a huge squad overall.
He didnt have to anticipate it. Hall, Lynch, Perch were all injured before the window closed, plus Caulker was whatever he is. Robinson hasn't been fit for ages. And he likes 3 at the back.

I found the performance very uplifting and I am full of optimism for our club
I seriously think we can only get stronger and could even be in the hunt for promotion via the play offs but no bothered either way as don't trust TF to get it right if we won the lottery of this league[/QUOTE]
One the one hand there are two failed promotions to support that statement. On the other hand, we do have our Rangers back which might indicate TF & Co have learnt their lesson. His Twitter feed (for what its worth), also suggests the latter.

An email from a mate of mine (a 'Boro fan) who was at the match on Saturday in response to me telling him the 3rd goal should not have stood:

I totally agree. I sit just above that touch line and I immediately looked
across at the linesman. I, and everyone around me, couldn't believe he
didn't flag it!! It made up for the 2 fluky goals we gave away.

QPR are probably the best team we've seen at the Riverside so far (or maybe
Preston?), but, in truth, our keeper had a quiet afternoon. I liked the look
of Luke Freeman but he faded in the 2nd half. Baptiste had bad luck with a
double leg break in his first game for Boro 2/3 years ago so never got a
chance with us. He got a sympathetic reception from Boro fans and thought he
looked solid at the back. You'll smash Burton next week, they were rubbish
when they came to our place

Both teams should make the play-offs.

I have to agree with you. It's been a long time since we had full cover for every position. Every season we seem to be lacking in either defence, midfield or attack. For a while, midfield has had the numbers so it's gone between defence and attack as the department which is lacking. Arguably, we are still lacking in attack but it was so obvious that we had a fragile defense. As you say, a couple were already injured but also others are old or have bad histories with regards to regular injuries. The writing was on the wall. A chance was taken and it didn't pay off.

Furthermore, I know he's coming up to 38 years of age but why have we not secured Clint Hill? Why did we let him go in the first place? He often stayed away from injury (I know not entirely but every gets injured eventually) and was still the best defender at our club at the time of leaving. There aren't many dependable free agents out there so we'll have to wait for the Winter window. And by that time are we gonna be playing Jamie Mackie at RB again?

Excellent performance from all, a great game to watch. Would rather watch a good performance when we've lost. Boro's winner should not have stood!

I actually don't think it's impossible for that to still be in. The ball has to entirely go over the line. The angle from which that image comes is very angular. If you were looking straight down at the ball, would you still be able to see all of the line? For the record, I was not at the game and haven't seen any other angle than this one. Thoughts anyone? Does anyone believe they can say that's definitely over the line from that angle?

My mate did and he's a 'Boro fan and was there. That's good enough for me.

Oh dear. That's what we all thought the last time we played Burton. Hope they are taken very seriously!
