Great first half by the City.. 2-0 well deserved.. Cornick playing well, as is James, Knight.. decent save from Max.. Just hope we don’t look to sit on it
How nice it is to be 2-0 up at half-time away from home much against predictions. I am sure Middlesbrough will come out firing in the second half and let's hope our history off late game capitulations doesn't show up and bite us in an uncomfortable place. Max still needs to work on his distribution as several of his kicks went straight out of touch and gave play back to our opponents. We need to stabilize ourselves to withstand what will probably come our way and I couldn't help but notice that when we are put under severe pressure we have 8/9 players bustling around in or around our penalty area and for me that means some players getting in each other's way with no outlet through midfield. I must also say that the pass from Cornick to Bell was sublime and we need more of that kind of play from him to change my opinion.
A word for Vyner who baled out Tanner and Max before we scored. First 25minutes we looked so sharp, (will 120minutes at Forest take its toll ?) hope we find a 2nd wind in the 2nd half. Bell is lightweight, with the keeper so far out, wtf didn't he take it round him...he had acres to use. Interesting if the new lad comes on.
When I look at the table right now at half-time I see we are 4 points off the play-off places and I feel for those lost points we have thrown away in games we should have won. We still need to steel ourselves.
Middlesbrough are really pressing us now and we have too many back to counter attack and we don't defend well, and look like an accident waiting to happen. C'mon City these 3 points are crucial after a 2-0 lead.
I agree with RR, I would have kept Cornick on (never thought I’d say that) but he caused them trouble
Was always likely today after the cup game went to ET, another big game on Tue night. LM has to keep them fresh, good management if you ask me, I like it.
Our decision making when under pressure is our downfall and we have to get more up field to ease the onslaught. I too would have kept Cornick on, and I never thought I would say that. They just scored but whew it was offside.
