You mean like in the 5 game winless streak that saw us drop 10 points at a key stage of the season between late Feb early March?
Edit - in case that's too subtle he played in every one of these games. People really do get ideas in their head without actually backing them up with fact.
Er No..... more like the defeats against Leicester, Portsmouth, Coventry, Millwall at the back end of March/Beginning of April ......... the game he came back, (Middlesboro ironically) we did win!
Yep that it is correct. I also think we managed a couple of goals whilst Koren was out and certainly didn't manage a single point.
In a team clearly lacking a cutting edge and one that is desperately short of goals I'm perplexed that people think it's a good idea to sell our main creative outlet.
Especially for a fee that wouldn't go anywhere near to replacing him.
If silly money is being offered then any player is available at any club, I just don't want to see him go on the cheap, I don't want him to go full stop.
He's two years younger than Frank Lampard and a year younger than Scott Parker. How many think they are over the hill.
As for him not getting stuck in? We play with what are essentially two holding, defensive midfielders, what do you think their job is?
Maybe we should play three and just go for clean sheets.
I'm not being patronising but if you take time to watch Koren he does a lot more than meets the eye.
His positioning and movement alone creates space and chances that we simply don't have when he's not playing.
For what it's worth I think Koren will leave and let's see how we do without him next season.
