Just shows you are good at tests, often means common sense is lacking. Why the need to take them anyway?

JGF - a long time ago when bunking off from Weston Tech College, my mate and I bumped into an eccentric old chap by the name of Wadworth - like the beer.
He challenged us to solve this puzzle:
    CROSS
    +ROADS
    =DANGER

It took me about an hour but I managed it - find the values of all the letters. My mate didn’t have a clue and gave up after a couple of minutes.
Apparently Mr Wadworth was a member of MENSA and this was an IQ test they used.

There is no doubt he has ability but harnessing it on a regular basis as part of a team seems to be the real issue.

pretty much expected results 2 losses turn outs of circa 52% of voters never good for the ruling party irrespective of the background circumstances.

Usual Thursday evening SORTIE and our friend from Cullumpton [ and his wife and 3 kids 2 married party of 8 of them gone to Glastonbury he joining them later ] never voted ... whats the point he said Tories got a massive majority in Parliament, and a loss or close shave will give them a kick up the a**.... said he has enough 40mm x 40mm @ 2m long timber now to make a screen for his daughters garden ............. !!

Strange how some people give up the ghost!

My party, the Tories, are deserving of all the flak aimed at them.
Ffs let's not forget why there were 2 elections yesterday, one was caused by an MP caught watching porn in parliament and the other sent to jail for molesting a teenage boy.
They have become inept since the pandemic, where Boris deserved praise, to becoming totally becalmed and resting on their huge parliamentary majority.
Ordinary folk need real help with the cost of living crisis and I'm afraid Boris, Sunak - the entire government are conspicuous by their absence.
We are lurching from crisis to crisis and in need of real leadership.

Obviously not a view held by Oliver Dowden.

In the long run Boris’s refusal to take responsibility, do the honourable thing and resign from Labours perspective is a bonus, because it will make their job much easier at the next election. However it’s far more important that our country is run by someone of integrity and honesty, it’s well above party politics for me.

It is very difficult to be anything in politics at the moment... there is so many things have gone on and are happening now where people expect the the .gov to wave a magic wand and it all goes away. IT wont go away by magic ............ it needs working at, and because you you cant wave a wand its gone instantly .... you have to work at it the masses do not appreciate that .. never have. Another problemis the people in "power" RMT /UNIONS/PARLIAMENT / ETC are bullet proof they have exceptionally high wages / incomes some from many streams so they when in opposition dont care a flying fleck what they try and do they are financially secure .. ring fenced!
a number have mention the causes reasons for our predicament [ UK / EUROPE/ GLOBALLY ] AND made comments wherein actually they give the odd answer to curing it.

Simply it is like your household budget ... for most gone out the window nowadays as always had enough and got stuff cheap ... BCRW ? said all get pay rises and it all goes up what we buy so get more pay rises it goes up more ....

Labour 10 12 years ago left the UK IN THE DEEPEST MIRE FOR DECADES .. they will do it again ... we had about 10 years of Austerity, PEOPLE SLOWLY GOT TO REALISE that it was beginning to look good and 2019 it was AUSTERITY WAS OVER AND THE GOOD TIMES WERE AROUND THE CORNER ... NO ... Covid was around the corner "the £trn "we had gotten out of debt with and was the future was shared back to some of the population via furlough and "gifts" to business to compensate for lost business ... pot is empty ... it really is come 01/01/2023 we will need to start the process of filling it up again ... Labour and opposition want to spend spend spend .. unions want to grab grab grab ... people want to get what they can in the fervour of the stampede ... without actually contributing of course. I would love there to be another general election NOW and the opposition gets a majority of 5 [ thats all other parties combined ] Starmer is in charge and for 2 years and 7 months manages to get us into a debt double the last one .. but a sixth by election gives tories a 1 seat majority. No money in kitty .gov credit rating D debt in £TRN's and personal taxation now accounting for 40% of all earnings, unemployment at 6 million .. immigration at a point we cant support any that come here ............... what a lesson the electorate will need to go through then ... AUSTERITY ... probably with rationing and coupons ........ armageddon .........

The thing is John because of all these difficulties it’s even more important than usual that the public need to believe they are being lead by a PM with honesty and integrity, someone they can believe and trust. Boris is the exact opposite of what’s needed now. If he said it was raining, I’d have to go outside and check.

it is far more important that the public get on board with improving things, accepting the climate ...irrespective who is in the driving seat1 ... rather than exasperate the situation by falling foul of jobsworth's ... actually when you think about it what is the point of having a union leader, whose job is mostly only what its worth to put people/ encourage / etc to o on strike .. especially when the country financially is being choked by outside influences ...

They won’t get on board with improving things when they feel betrayed, treated like fools and lied to by the PM.

As for the Union leader, his role is to secure working conditions for his members, often going on strike is counter productive in those aims. They are only used in extreme circumstances.

I believe it’s in the government’s interest to pick a fight with the union, they see it as a way to improve their fortunes and detract from their internal problems.

thats what the RMT union want, a head on conflict and then they spin it into "bullying" the union rules are set, a procedure is in place ... they negotiate with the employer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> then last straw arbitration. .GOV just needs to keep on with the job.
Amazing how many people are saying by elections were all said and done before hand and Boris and .gov should just get on with it ..........

A bit of union bashing always lifts the Tories in the polls. They are using it to detract from the problems in their own ranks. It’s so obvious.

as if there wasnt enough negative things in the world going on for the media to report on ... everyrthing/ every where Boris goes is " whats happening back home that is main worries" WHAT a lot of BoLl iCkS ... The man is doing a sterling job in going to places to cement/ heal/ entice favours / show solidarity and do everything you would expect a world leader to do in present day crises to make a better world for us and others to live in. It shows the petty attitude of non descript reporters / low level jobsworth's trolling the gutters for something to put in print.

Did some painting yesterday, needed something to go on floor to protect the £40 sq m overlay. Got hold of a 2 week old newspaper after finishing for the day had a cup of tea sat down and read what was left of the paper [ centre had been pull sections ] so front had about pages 1 - 14 and equivalent on end of paper of course ... Drivel .. I thought this is why 28 years or so ago I stopped buying a morning paper ................ drivel
