37 mins · We've just been giving information that Liverpool will ACCEPTED a £10.5 million from Sunderland for Fabio Borini.
Alot of money that like! Maybe worth £8 million at the very tops! But you've got to pay over the top at the mo i suppose! Everybody seems to have eachother by the short and curlies as far as transfer fees go! Total desperation to stay in the Premier League. Other teams of our ilk are in the same boat!
I'm gonna be a lone voice here but I still think that's too much for the lad. And I really hope he's NOT the marque signing we've heard about earlier. still hoping for another striker before the window closes, someone with a better strike rate. Sincerely hoping that our 3 strikers this coming season aren't Borini, Whickham and Fletcher. I was hoping for more than that. Apologies for being a damp squib an all.
Fair play, i doubt he's our main (marquee) signing like, just reckon he's one gus negotiated with his contract, once we have secured fabio we'll be after more, reckon this summer will see a considerable amount of money being invested by ellis
Well they signed him for a reported 11m so they're not profiting from this. We're hardly being done. When you consider that he's only twenty three, had his first fully fit premiership season under his belt and familar with our style of play then I'm happy with the price, it's around what I thought we'd pay. When you see his movement and reading of the game you can see he's a step up in what we've got in the overall squad and we've spent more on others.

Can I just say... Lambert is ****! Not even as good as Andy Carroll! Borini I'd love at Sunderland... But I don't think he's a natural striker. Hardly scored anything but penalties for us. Just doesn't look a natural finisher IMO.
http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...i-will-stay-at-liverpool-says-agent-1-6703429 FABIO BORINI’s agent has reiterated that the Sunderland target is expected to remain at Liverpool this summer. The Italian has been at the top of Sunderland’s wish-list after netting 10 goals during his season-long loan spell at the Stadium of Light last year. But Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has repeatedly stressed that he sees Borini as part of his long-term plans at Anfield after splashing out £10.5million to land the frontman two years ago. Borini’s agent, Marco De Marchi, has reinforced the likelihood of Borini remaining on Merseyside by repeating that the 23-year-old expects to play his part for the Premier League runners-up next season. “Fabio goes back to Liverpool to stay there, as stated by the manager Rodgers a few weeks ago,” said De Marchi told the Italian press last night. “So far, Liverpool have not received any communication regarding his transfer. “I would not be surprised if there were other clubs who want him, because I consider him a complete striker. “But for the moment, all I can say with certainty is that Fabio has returned to Liverpool to stay.”
Liverpool FC ‏@LFC 5m #LFC are delighted to announce the signing of Adam Lallana from Southampton #LallanaLFC Lot more hopeful of the Borini transfer now
just thinking maybe after all this suarez stuff that they are waiting to see what happens with that incase they are forced to lose two stikers in close sucession, alothough if i was a LFC fan i wouldnt like to think they get 80 odd for him and not get another world class striker to replace him, in which case jozy and DG if you like
Just sign him up! He's bloody good and he knows the club and area already. I just don't understand the problem, personally...
Anyone fancy a small wager on Borini being signed? There appears to be a quite a few on here convinced that we'll be signing the lad. Personally can't see it happening though I admit that could be coloured by the fact I'm not particularly bothered about us having him. I just don't see this deal happening.
I agree, There's no way they'll keep Borini if Suarez goes, they'll have the money to buy 4 strikers all better than fabio. No way they'll take that much of a step back surely?
