Doesnt anyone else think that the official reason, a bruised shoulder, is just bollocks?

I've been dubious about him coming to us for quite a while, but I have a feeling there might have been some progress in negotiations.

So gonna make a ridiculous and baseless punt. Borini to be unveilled as latest signing ln Tuesday. :smiley-finger007:

Those days are gone for me mate, I don't trust any of them any more.

The only players who have any real loyalty, or love of the club, are local lads ...... even they'll do a 'Jordan' given half the chance.

If Borini came on loan, scored 20 goals but hated every minute it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

They're just a bunch of itinerant mercenaries these days which Bent, Gyan, Colback & Remy etc proved beyond all reasonable doubt.
Yeh that's true <bubbly>

I have a feeling Gus is seeing Onion as one of his central midfielders. We have AJ, Giacch and Gomez for the 2 wing berths alongside a central striker. Clear interest in Borini suggests Rodriguez May be used elsewhere

------Catts Rodriguez

AJ--------Gomez--------Borini/Giac

---------Fletcher

Would be a possible choice.

But with Gus's 433 it might be

Gomez ----Catts------Rodriguez

AJ----------Fletcher-------Borini

I'd love to see....

-------Catts----Ki SY

AJ-------Gomez-------Rodriguez

---------Wickham

Think your third option is probably closest, perhaps Rodwell in for Ki. Can't see the Onion being used centrally personally, certainly can't see him being played as holding midfielder as per the 1st option. That'd be a Steve Bruce move.

........catts.........Rodwell .....
Aj......Gomez. ..........Rodrehuez.

..............borini............

There's three players in there and we ain't got them yet.<bubbly>

Sunderland are reportedly considering amending their offer for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini to take him on loan for the season than signing him on a permanent deal.

The Black Cats agreed a £14m deal with the Reds for the 23-year-old, but the move has stalled as the Italian wanted to fight for his career at Anfield.

Borini sustained an injury during Liverpool's pre-season defeat to Roma and has travelled back to England for treatment on his shoulder.

His return to the country has left Sunderland mulling another loan deal for the striker, who scored 10 goals in all competitions in his spell at the Stadium of Light last season, reports The Express.

Sunderland added their fourth player this summer when they signed Patrick van Aanholt on Friday.

If Borini has any doubt about coming back he should check out this website.

Over 670 posts on a thread devoted to him.

At least he'll know he's wanted here!

italian sky journo just tweeted hes rejected us again? when did he first refuse. If true we must surely move on now.

its a shame cos the lad could have had a great time hear and been the hero he craves to be but i fear he never will and anfield

The longer this goes on the more likely we'll pull out. If this Rodriguez deal comes off, then I think we may just drop our interest

I don't, I think bringing in Rodriguez has no baring on Borini, I think if we move on from Borini it will be for an alternative target who can also play wide and upfront.

Well, unless we're buying Rodriguez to play cm, I'm not sure where Borini fits in the side, unless he'd gonna play up front, which I doubt

£14m is a lot for someone who will cover, presuming we're signing Rodriguez with a view of starting him
