Really? Cos it looks like you're doing a hell of a lot better without him.

He scored big goals. That goes a long way to covering up any deficiency.

That doesn't mean he'll always score 'big goals'.

After he turned you lot down, essentially spitting in your faces after a deal was struck between the two clubs, I'd be hoping my fellow fans would join me in making a human wall to stop him getting anywhere near my club.

he's still better than what we have got! he'll bring something else to the table! but i wouldnt pay over £6-7 million for him now though. if we pay anywhere near what was being thrown about a few months back i'd be mortified! i'd sooner we'd go for someone else, but if he came here i wouldnt complain! i think he'll go elsewhere now anyway.....i'd be suprised if he came to sunderland!

He's marginally better than Altidore and he's better than Graham but he's not better than what you can get.

Anyway, forget it, I think the kid's a sack of s**t and you lot rate him highly after a few goals last season, we'll not change each other's minds.

I'm with Terry on this one...He made it plain to see that we were a last resort, and that is not the type of player I want to see at our club..

Haha, I'm joking obviously, each person has their own views on what's best for their clubs, I just think there's plenty (foreigners especially) out there who'd walk over hot coals to play in this league and would contribute just as much.

I've got a feeling that Adnan Januzaj could be on his way to a mid-table club in January on loan, he'd see you lot through to summer where you'd get more bang for ya buck!

i would not touch him with a barge pole after the carry on last summer. I do not think it was all his fault, he was way overvalued by us on the strength of a few important goals mostly spot kicks, where he showed great composure, he also ran his socks off, not for us as it turned out but in an effort to try and impress his manager back in Liverpool, this he seems not to have done, and it has all turned sour, lets keep our dignity, and like the circus it was, move on.

Dont get me wrong, I'd sooner he not come and we go for someone better for half the price. If he was to come then I would want a full explanation from the club and/or Borini as to why the deal was not done in the summer and why it dragged on so much! I just think that he is better than what we've got and if we can get him for a fraction of the 10-14 million that was being touted then i'd be content! The goal he scored in the cup final was the sort of finish that i have rarely, if ever, seen a sunderland player produce! Dont forget, he was playing in a team who were drained of confidence (****e basically) so I wonder what he'd be like in our team as it stands today, with a bit more backbone behind it! Again, I'd sooner we look elsewhere, but if he did join I wont be unhappy, unless we splash out 10-14 million, which would make me furious! To be fair to him, he stated that he stopped at Liverpool so he can fight for his place and play Champions League football! Well he's had more pitch time than anyone of us had expected and he started against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, so you could argue that he made the right decision (short term) as far as he's concerned! His future probably still lies elsewhere and I'd be suprised if it was with us!

Would be happy with this, he hasn't done a great deal since he scored those two goals against us (typical...) but he's a cracking young player, and we have a good track record with loans from United.

He's class mate, but Van Gaal can't trust him defensively this season to do his part and he's really pushing this wing back position that Young is thriving in.

Adnan's goals will come with confidence, and he needs a loan away to get that back.

He needs games, guaranteed, from a team who cannot hurt United's ambition, preferably at this level, if not abroad.

I don't think Januzaj has the discipline to fit in with the Poyet system. Decent player but not who I'd want to see at SAFC, unless he was coming to strenthen the bench which would be a bit pointless.

If Borini came back it would be an unusual feeling at first. I wouldn't reject him as I think he would improve the team. Let's remember he was never a Sunderland player to start with.

He is a top quality player and people can make errors of judgement. Maybe a few extra months with Liverpool is enough to make him realise that he made a poor call.

If he signs for Sunderland, he would be a Sunderland player.

I can remember the days of Paul Bracewell. Would the fans of SAFC welcome back Jack Colback? Not a chance in hell... I think the era between the days of Paul Bracewell (which werent perfect I agree) have moved on and the minds of football fans have changed, for the worse.

If Borini actually signed for Sunderland, which I don't think will happen... I would accept him and I'm confident he would fit back in without any issues.

I don't want him back, not because he snubbed us in favour of his parent club, cos I don't think he is the answer to our goal scoring problems. He was never an out and out striker which imo is what we need right now.

The Italy international forward was close to reuniting with the Black Cats over the summer but his hopes of securing his future at Anfield have faded and January could see him move

    BET=SunderlandSUN£20DRAW£33Hull CityHUL£42888sport By Graeme Bailey

Sunderland have reopened talks with Liverpool over a deal for Fabio Borini, Goal understands.

The Italy international spent the whole of last season on loan at the Stadium of Light and became a firm fan favourite, scoring in a derby win over Newcastle and in the League Cup final defeat by Manchester City.

Sunderland tried to sign Borini in the summer and even agreed a fee of £14 million with the Reds but the forward rejected the move, instead deciding to fight for his future at Anfield.

Borini has been given sporadic chances by Brendan Rodgers this season but it has now been made clear to him that his long-term future lies away from the club and the Black Cats have revived their interest but are looking for a much-reduced fee from the previous deal agreed, believed to want to pay less than £10m.

Rodgers indicated on Wednesday that he is open to the possibility of reinforcing his squad in the January window, telling reporters that "there will always be speculation [...] if there's a possibility to strengthen we will take a look, for the right type of player", and a Borini sale could fund such exploits.

The ex-Chelsea man must now decide whether or not to accept that his Liverpool career is over and if he will agree to move to Sunderland.

A source told Goal: "Sunderland are back in for Borini. A deal is close and a lot now rests with the player but Gus Poyet would really like him at the Stadium of Light."

I hope there is no truth in this, have some dignity and look elsewhere Gus. Way overrated, and no longer a supporters favorite, he put paid to that in the summer, when he would have been welcomed by all.
