Although I'm probably about 80% over my recent illness, it has had one unfortunate after-effect. Beer and wine taste extremely unpleasant, with the result that I'm almost teetotal now, just the occasional single malt. Hey-ho, I've had to take in my belt a couple of notches.

I had the same thing when I suffered acute food poisoning a couple of years back , I lost about 20 lbs very quickly ,beer and wine tasted disgusting- at one point I was seriously considering hypnotherapy to get over it! Hope you feel 100 % soon mate

Bloody hell, that sounded awful.

I had similar after my bypass.
I pretty much did not drink for 6 months, but am now back to 5 pints a week and that is me done.
Good luck on your recovery back to 100% fitness, the booze is secondary.

London Pride was my beer of choice after a Chatlyon win - never knew when the next one was coming. But they vanished off the shelves last Christmas, and no sign of any more coming. Lot of Marstons IPA though, which will do me fine, and Brew Dog Punk, which is a smooth drink.
