I'm off to do another 5km run on my treadmill - that's 14 consecutive days now (fit old ****).

Aye you too pal. I'm definitely down a couple kilos - although not sure that's whether that's being off the booze, the wife deciding to put us both on a diet, or the fact I've taken up running to stave off insanity and get me out the house once a day.

Judging by the number of amazon parcels that keep arriving courtesy of the wife though, I'm pretty sure we're not going to see a financial benefit this month.

**** me it gets boring though. As the late, great Clement Freud put it "If you resolve to give up smoking and drinking, you don't actually live longer; it just seems like longer"

<laugh> Cracking stuff, mate. I'm sure a lot of blokes on here will echo the Amazon deliveries, there are three others in my house who have regular deliveries! How often are you out jogging?

Right, I've just done 5km on the treadmill in 23.51 minutes, a new personal best for me. If I can shave another 10 mins of that I will have broken the world record!

I would have thought that's mere bagatelle for a bloke with your booze free physical attributes.

It's real bugger, I've been going into the garage just to gaze longingly at the ale in the beer fridge.

:emoticon-0162-coffeI can’t even begin to imagine how ****ing we’re all gonna get at the first opportunity in Feb! A whole month without beer whilst watching the ****e Bruce has served us up this month, it’s a miracle nee ones fallen off the wagon!

I’m kinda off the booze by proxy (diet), lost 6 stone since August and got a couple left to go but it’s coming off a lot slower now. Might shift another stone and then have a bit of a blow out to give the old metabolism a bit of a wake up call <laugh><laugh>

Gonna get out and start running again soon I reckon not that I’ve shifted the bulk of what i needed to.

Out most days - aiming for 1000km in a year of lockdown (starting from 23rd March 2020). More or less on track so far. Running in the snow this evening wasn't much fun, although there were less people to dodge...

Noticed a lot more people out jogging immediately after Jan 1st. They all seem to be staying home now.

That's good going, mate. Have you ever had or thought about getting a treadmill? One of the beauties of it is that I don't even need to leave the house, and no one can laugh at me! <laugh>

I thought you had a more modern car. Didn’t realise you had the Flintstone Coupe still.

Not bad at all. Faster than I'm going for sure.

Not sure I fancy a treadmill mind - need to get out into the fresh air at least once a day, and as we live in a flat it might as well be for a run. Once I'm going I don't mind the cold, now I've pinched a pair of the Mrs's fancy running gloves she's never used.

It's good to get out mate, especially if you working from home. Re the treadmill, it's a good pacemaker. I start on 13kph and up it to 14 after four km. I couldn't do that outside as I wouldn't be able to stick to an ideal pace.
