I am sick to death of RH going overboard about booing and people on here going on about it as if we were all doing it. I was in E7 and did not hear any booing. If there was any then it was probably about 10 or so idiots and that should not reflect on the rest of us. From the start of the game I think the whole crowd were behind the team. Even the South stand started a chant going. Unfortunately the team did not seem to have any confidence or belief in themselves and then this transmits to the crowd who then get more and more nervous. No matter what the players say about "taking one game at a time" etc they must feel pressure from their own family and friends around them. Hopefully Watford will slip up but the fans just desparately wanted 3 points last night so we could go into the next game feeling more relaxed.
On BBC Radio Humberside, I don't normally like Gwilym. Nobody does (I don't think) but I think the way that first caller who came on and was so negative saying that Watford were going to overtake us and all that ****e and Gwilym basically just laughed at him all the way through the call and ended it prematurely because it was just nonsense. I don't know about anybody else, but I respected him for that.
Just been reading the comments in the HDM, unbelievable the rubbish people post on there, it seems to be the online version of Blunderside. There seems to be always this expectation of wonderful football at City, I see it all the time from our fans, like being successful is not enough and we have to be playing like Brazil every game! I bet next season Bruce will be getting the dogs abuse that Pearson got for his style of football. I wish people would be a bit more realistic and realise its points and results that count and how you get them and this will always be the case with us.
I ever heard any booing. So RH mentioned it Karen? Lovely negative story for them then blown out of all proportion if it even happened. Just watching the game now and it's the 18 th minute, the commentator has just commented how loud the support is even tho BC are having the better of it.
Also the dummies are saying the team won't cope in the Premiership but why should it as we won't be fielding the same team next season will we. The fact is we probably won't be good for the Prem but basing that on this seasons Championship side is ridiculous to say the least
The booing at the end of the match was almost a whimper. It fizzled out quickly as, I presume, the people doing it realised it was futile. I just think the stadium filled up with tension last night. The crowd did get behind the team, but tension and frustration creeped in as the game wore on, which is a shame. I vividly recall the East stand requesting that the North, South and West all follow their lead and get behind the team, a request that was roundly ignored. What can you do eh?
Do people who post on the HDM site go to games ? A lot of our fans were very good last night including some of the south stand , some of our fans were silent until the end and then they booed , **** em
I enjoyed having a good boo but I'm entitled to as I'm a proper supporter. There were booers there with flasks of tea last night - unacceptable.
Perhaps it wasn't booing and they were simply making accidental noises while blowing on their tea to cool it?
I tried to start "We're the West Stand, we're the West Stand .." but it's not easy when you're the only person singing.
To be fair the Boo'ing was loud enough for people on these forums to hear it in three different stands so it was clearly more than five people as some of you mentioned. The thing that annoys me about our support is the moaning about one pass that goes to a Bristol player the first time that it happens. Week in, week out you see Michael Carrick misplacing passes, he just got nominated for PFA player of the year. Yet you will barely hear a groan at Old Trafford, mainly as they trust their players to do it. Our players have got us second over 44 games now, we need to start believing in them and stop moaning about bad passes and bad crosses. I have never heard one player say a groan has helped them, with numerous saying, singing, chanting etc.... does. However no doubt the support at Barnsley will be brilliant and we won't have half as many moaners there. Surely we all go to support our team? Support being the key word.
Sorry to disagree, but the booing was not in my opinion justified. All around me the only comments were negative. Not one was ever positive. There isn't balance, if there was then the booing would be fine by me. I must go to football for a different reason to some. I go because I enjoy the competion. Not because I want to just see us win. Last night, I watched as a Bristol team set out to slow the game down, compressing it into a very tight central area. Bristol defended well, they came with the objective of not losing. I thought it was a very hard game, hard to watch but also hard to guess who could win
if they play well.. the spectators create an atmosphere, it isnt the other way round. the players get paid to win and to put on a show. would you prefer it if the spectators got paid for rousing the players? I thought that's what SB was paid for.
Loved the West stand give us a song chant, which was also directed at North and South stand, no f****r replied like, atmosphere in E1/2 was brilliant for the majority of the First half then a bunch of people booed, pillocks.
What a load of rubbish. Have you any idea what supporting a club means! Haven't you noticed clubs where the fans start singing before the kick off and carry on regardless of what is happening. Do you think that encourages them less than some people moaning and groaning or sat in silence until a goal is scored?
Despite the south stand breaking into song several times and even the west once? Plonker. Get that blanket off your ears and put your flask away.
The booing was very clear as the final whistle blew. I don't know how anyone can defend the standard of the passing and crossing in that game; it was way below the smooth, flowing game we are capable of and used to show against far better organised teams than Bristol. It was because of what I thought was dire football that I thought booing (disapproval) was warranted, but, as I also said, it was inappropriate and that is because I disapprove of booing a sports team - even if they do play ****e. I think I would boo someone who says we played good football and that our passing was okay, because they must have turned out for the wrong game.
