I thought Bony was with the Spice Girls when I first saw the pic! I wonder if he managed to score that night
Edinson Cavani: 2 goals in 4 games Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 1 goal in 4 games Romelu Lukaku: 0 goals in 6 games Sergio Aguedo: 1 goal in 2 games Papiss Demba Cisse: 0 goals in 3 games Mirko Vucinic: 1 goal in 4 games Bony 4 goals in 6 Just saying like
bony we are not on about goals scored yet, we are on about performance and bony lacks pace at the moment. he has to get that right or its £12 million wasted if he ends up like danny boy....f
Bony is not here to pass the ball pretty, he is here to score goals, and as long as he does that, I couldn't give a rats arse about how he performs. I mean you look at some of the hard workers, Graham, can't score for **** at Hull or Sunderland, yet many comments on him being a hard worker. Pintado, always gave his ll, couldn't score for ****. Scotland, never a great performer, 45 in 90, lovely stuff. Bony, not great performances, 4 in 6, lovely stuff. Just the sort of striker we need for our system.
Glad to see I'm not the only one making a Scotland comparison. He's like him in so many ways though I reiterate that I don't think you can get away with not working hard in the Prem. As you say if he's scoring frequently we're unlikely to care. Well, some of us.
My use of the term working hard is the sort of player who tracks back, like Pintado used to do, we don't need that in a striker, we want him to stay up the pitch, how many times did we used to find ourselves sat back and had no outlet when under pressure because our striker was tracking back, gave us nothing in terms of counter attacking. A player like Bony, will allow us that option, as he won't track back like some of the old strikers we had, thats what i meant by hard working, thats not to say he won't work hard up front, holding the ball, trying to turn his markers and of course, getting into the right positions to score. but I personally don't want another Pintado, I want another Scotland, and for me Bony is a better version of Scotland, so to say I am a happy guy, is an understatement. I do hope it works out for him, but those who say his performances are bad after 133 minutes of prem football, against 3 sides who finished above us last season, is just being overly harsh on him.
I agree he's better than Scotland who couldn't really cut it at a higher level. I also agree that we shoudn't be expecting Bony to track back - stay up there and bang 'em in!
