'“The fans here show me lot of affection - that’s a motivation for me,” he said. “I have a good a job here. I try to enjoy it.”
That sounds really promising Bob. If he doesn't go to a CL club, I can see him finishing his career here with us.
What must Bony think? You've got Monk dropping him for his last game, playing Gomis instead and telling him it's his position to lose and that if he plays well he keeps his place, even when Bony's back? You've got Jenkins saying he'll consider offers for Bony? What's up with these two?
Would you rather Monk said to Gomis . "enjoy your chance while you can but you're second choice when Wilfs back " and I'm sorry to say but we're not in a position to turn down a good offer for any of our players ,especially one who could by his transfer fee could furnish the purchase of players needed in other areas or put down a sizeable chunk of a deposit if we wanted to buy the Stadium .Bony as great as he is will be replaced at some point and I don't think those comments will have a bearing on when ,it'll be on how much is offered .
"This is your chance to impress us, if you match up to what we need Wilfried will have to win his place back."
I would rather Monk said nothing on the issue Matt....nothing to be gained by saying something like that and lots to lose .
I'd have thought by now that Monk would have a fair idea of what to say to whom and when and what ,sound bites are just that .
Chelsea to offer £30 million - but City told the price is £60m!!! http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...s-AGREES-deal-Chelsea-eye-Bony-Arsenal-latest
Drogba has told Mourinho to go after Bony at all cost and a possibility of Remy coming the other way.
Man City are considering buying Ross Barkley for 45million, so that will scupper their plans for Bony I would imagine.
Is it me or is 45 mill for barkley absurd yes he has potential but is injury prone and not the finished article by a long way i feel
It's a ridiculous sum of money. When you think they are considering paying that for him, then Huw is well within his rights to tell Man City we want £60 million for Bony. I've also read today that Man City are looking at Benteke as an alternative to Bony.
Clubs will always show interest in other players as a bargaining ploy. It's up to Huw to stand his ground.
