I called it when we signed him. Club legend and one of Mini Lincolns favourite players! I think his mentalness isn't contrived either, he's genuinely not all there
Overall thoughts on the game: - Che was a force up top. Need more of that especially when our back in against the wall. - AMN showed the good and the bad. Some very loose passes but also showed a lot of endeavour in midfield and played a couple really nice forward passes, which is an alien concept to us atm. Could be a pretty decent player for us. - Salisu was brilliant, and DCC grew into the game as well. Defended the box very well. - The way the subs came on and helped control the game won it for us. Diallo, Stu, Larios and Lyanco were calm under pressure and were smart in possession. There was a chance for Stu to put Adarma in to a very good position but he misplaced it and couldn’t get the angle right for him, and that should’ve killed the game off, but he did carry the ball up very well. - I hope we aren’t judging Ralph’s position game-by-game. Was great to win but I still believe a change is needed, so hopefully this win has only brought him some time until a replacement is found, rather than sacking him now and allowing a caretaker to cover.
I’ve been saying this for ages. He has all the attributes to be a CDM who can drop in as an extra CB.
I have heard a fair few people say this. I think it is based on the fact he is better than most CBs with the ball at his feet, particularly in terms of close ball control and dribbling. But that doesn't mean he has the attributes for a DM/CM. The biggest difference between CB and CM isn't passing or ball control, it is awareness. You have to be aware of 360° around you for the entire game and have your next move made up before you even get the ball. Now I am not saying Lyanco 100% doesn't have that. But based on what I have seen he is fairly erratic. Not convinced personally but you won't know until you try it, which Ralph likely has in training and perhaps seen why it doesn't work.
Isnt Diallo fairly erratic? We won’t know unless we try. Playing in training isn’t the same as a match. Playing Moussa at full back isn’t an obvious change but it has not been a complete shambles. Cup matches against lower league opposition might be a good option.
I listened to the commentary on the radio and it seemed we rode our luck. For my money, Bournemouth seem a bit over-rated. we probably have a more talented squad yet the game was a potential banana skin. It is difficult to be ethusiastic about Ralph when our ability to acheive results is so fragile. Looking at the league position, it is reassuring to get out of the relegation zone but there are a good few teams in there who I feel are much worse than us. In a normal, uninterrupted season, I feel comfortable if we have reached 20 points before Christmas. This year I think that if you finish about Fulham, you will be safe.
Don't feel too bad at all thankfully. Headache on and off all day, sore throat but nothing painkillers won't help with.
