Bolton's squad is capable of challenging the top end of the table. Lennon has already started to make improvements to their form, I expect to see them climb the table.

That doesn't excuse another very lightweight performance from us away from home. I like the idea of same 11 consistency but we need to start making ourselves much harder to beat away from the CCS. As Hilts has said that surely means 5 in midfield plus asking our full backs to sit in a bit for the first half whilst we try to get a foothold. Basically keep a nice compact shape and work very hard to protect the clean sheet. Approach each away as 0-0 being a good result then see if Whits, Noone and co can come up with the moment needed to nick it.

I agree with Whiffle that 3 cb's on the bench seemed mental!!

We have now lost to Millwall, their only win at the time in eight games, Blackpool, bottom of the league was another embarrassment and now Bolton who were also on a poor run. This isn't a Cardiff squad that is going back to the Premier League. I see us as mid championship if we are lucky. No leader in the squad and poor direction. Hudson should never have been sold.

I agree about the leaders but I'm not sure if Huds was the answer. I haven't seen the goals so I don't know if either CB is culpable but up until last night I'd have said Huds would struggle to make the side in front of Morrison or Manga.

Problem is we're failing both ends of the pitch away from home. The lack of goals is as significant as the poor defending. Millwall and Blackpool could have been very different had we not been so poor going forward as well.

I agree the current set up has little to no chance of promotion.

    Agree 100% with this.

Haven't seen anything of it yet on vid nor did I listen to it last night on player - just saw the result. So only from what I've read this morning, what a f**ing shambles of a game. We didn't turn up first half again and paid the price unlike against Leeds. This "confidence" thing from Slade is doing my head in. Apparently we didn't have it before Ole got the bullet, but what has changed? The answer is f** all.

Since Slade arrived I've gone gung ho on the forum about our prospects more in enthusiasm for my club rather than reason, but had my doubts about the supposed "revival" under Slade. I'm not having a go at him personally on here other than to say I'm coming around toward thinking it hasn't really happened.

The wins at home against Forest, Ipswich and Leeds last Saturday have fostered the myth, but in truth all three need to be analysed. Forest had a bad day and we were lucky to hold out in the end, Ipswich were unlucky not to go in half time with a decent lead but fell apart after the break, and Leeds were just a bloody poor side.

Away from home we've been absolutely dire. At Millwall and last night at Bolton we were found out - especially regarding this confidence lark. We keep hearing we have the ability in the squad to climb this division but there is something sadly missing and it isn't confidence. The abundance of supposed strikers gathered by Ole looks another myth. The midfield is lacking in pace, tenacity and guile as well as providing very little support for the back 4.

As for the back 4, they slipped up badly last night and were very poor overall, but that can happen when you've got piss poor performances going on in front of you.

There is a still loads of time, but this squad and its' "confidence and attitude" we are hearing about is a long way off what's needed to turn it around.

I think that's harsh. Very few matches in this league are totally dominated by either side. Last night we had chances at 1 and 2 nil to get back into it.
I thought we played a controlled game against Ipswich and got a fair result, we did hang on a bit v Forrest. We can, at least, all agree that Leeds are ****e though <laugh>

I don't think that was harsh Stevo. I watched all three of those home games probably the same as you, but Forest could hardly string a pass together for an hour. In the second half, it was almost one way traffic toward our end in much the same way it was when we surrendered a 2 goal lead against Sunderland last season. Where was the confidence to knock it about?

The Ipswich game second half they were as much a shambles defensively as I've seen from anyone this season (except for Leeds <laugh>) and we took advantage. I don't think we controlled the game with confidence - they just lost it.

    Leeds?.........well.........<laugh><laugh>

Holloway showed the way at Millwall Cardiff don`t like it up um

We were bullied Again last night Look at the foul Count 20 to 5

Much too lightweight for the Championship

Ole never had to do any Work at ManU and he has signed a bunch of primaddonas

We really need some grit in midfield But where do you find that certainly not in Cardiffs squad

Even allowing for the fact that Jones and Pilks were unavailable, and also Mason and McNuggs are out on loan, we could have still started a different outfield 10 that would probably have had a go if given the chance.

Trouble is most of them don't appear to be in the "inner 20".

    Connolly.............Cala................Turner................John

    Harris..............Burgstaller.............Eikrem............Daehli

    ...............Maynard..................Guerra..................

That still leaves Velikonja waiting for his chance........<laugh>

These away games prove we have a squad of players with no bottle. Bullied out of every away game.
What a complete waste of money this over paid squad is.
I'm already sick of Slade making the same comments after another away defeat. Makes all the right noises but nothing changes.

This season is a total right off with this bunch of over paid prima donnas. Time to scrap most of them and start again.

There is a lack of fight in the squad.

Why did we get rid of Hudson??? Crazy, crazy, crazy! Come summer we need to offload three or four of these "skilled" players and get some desire in.

Slade has inherited a squad that has no balls. I think he has to speak carefully and use gently gently words so they don't break down and cry because the manger bullied them.

Very true. Being taken to an industrial tribunal is the last thing we need. <whistle>

A number of them need to start cultivating a pair of testicles. <yikes>
