The really annoying thing is the attendance will be around 15,000. Pay on the day I honestly reckon we'd fill the full 5000.

    thats sarcasm right?
dont see why a 1/3 of our current home crowd would suddenly turn up away when we barely sell out leeds an hour down the road..

That was a Tuesday night and early season. We've just won 3 on the trot, are second and have signed a new player. Who would've thought we'd overflow the official 7000 seats at Hillsborough on a Tuesday in division 3 so they had to overspill into an unused area?

that was a long time ago tho, our away following has been almost a **** as the home last few years tho..even most games in the second premier league season we took a reduced allocation or didnt sell out..
i reckon wed have taken 2000-2500 to bolton, never 5000, nowhere near..

We wouldn't take 5,000 (However, we did close to that at Nottingham Forest the other year)

I'd agree with the above i'd say 2,500 would probably go, Blackburn and Blackpool was EXACTLY the same, hardly any tickets bought beforehand but both ended up over 1,000 because of Pay on the Day.

If we have 1,500 sold already with people wanting more, if this was changed to pay on the day i can see another 1,000 turning up on the day

There always seems to be one City game a season where everybody seems to want to go, like Forest in 2010/11

i assume this took both clubs by surprise, according to the club Bolton are trying to get us more tickets, lets hope for 1,000 made available on the day only. They should advise fans to get there early to get a ticket, meaning they'll make more money from sales in the stadium at the bars etc. Would be a great oppurtunity for them to make some extra cash.

I bet they're aware with the increased interest in the game that fans will go into the home ends if they don't open up more in the away end

With pay on the gate I reckon we'd have topped 2,000, possibly reached 2,500, but definitely no more.

It's a shame ticket sales didn't start better, we'd have probably taken the 3,000 option earlier in the week.

Do you think the 2 might be connected?

It gets announced we can't go to Huddersfield as free people and it's going to be on telly so people use the money they were planning on spending then to go to Bolton? Otherwise it seems odd for a sudden rush, beating Blackburn and signing Boyd isn't that good that it can double our away following when we're already having a good season.

I've done similar in the past with away games, I chose to miss the Emirates because it was on TV but got to White Hart Lane the following weekend. I missed being there for the shock victory, but I saw it in full as it was happening and then got the extra game the following week.
